Emergency numbers useful contacts in Thailand

thailand tourist police number

When you are traveling in Thailand as a foreigner, it can be confusing to know which number to call in an emergency. It is not as simple as just calling one number for everything (like you may be used to in your own country). Fortunately, we have compiled a list of all the useful contacts that you may need whilst in Thailand.

English-speaking operators can be hit or miss. If you are having difficulty, the tourist police, or international hospital may be your best option.

SafetyWing is our recommended travel health insurance provider. In case of any type of medical incident, having health insurance coverage in Thailand can save you a lot of money, or even your life.

Emergency numbers

Police & emergencies – 191 This may be the most important number to remember. Thailand has reportedly made 191 the main call center for all emergencies. If the operator is unable to speak English, call 1155 (below).

Tourist Police – 1155 or (+66) 2308-0333 This hotline is available 24 hours a day and they will all speak English. This is an important phone number to remember – They will help you out with any concerns or questions you have and can redirect you to the correct number you may need. Public Ambulance (Everywhere) – 1669 Dialing this number will connect you to a public ambulance service, which will dispatch a vehicle to your location. The average response time for urban areas is around 10 minutes, but may take up to 30 minutes in rural areas. English-speaking staff should be available to assist you.

Fire Department – 199 In case of an emergency such as a house fire, or forest fire, call 199 for the Fire Department to be dispatched to your location.

Private Ambulance (Bangkok) – 1724 or 1719 The response time of a public ambulance can vary. Traffic is terrible in Bangkok so it could be worth noting down these private ambulance numbers. It will cost you more but you are likely to get to the hospital and be treated quickly.

Highway Police – 1193 If you plan on driving in Thailand, then you may end up needing to use this number if you break down in an unsafe place etc.

Note: The emergency medical services (ambulance) should have English speaking staff, but the police and fire services may not speak your language. If there is a Thai speaker nearby, get them to call. If it is not an urgent emergency and you do not have a Thai speaker with you, it is advised to call the Tourist Police – See below.

Embassies and Consulates

The Consular office of the Embassy of a foreign national in Thailand is responsible for providing assistance and information to citizens in distress, such as victims of crime, those arrested on suspicion of committing a crime, those experiencing serious illness, those who have lost a partner or spouse, and those in need of repatriation after a crisis. Additionally, they can assist with lost or stolen passports.

Pattaya Tourist Police. The duty of the Tourist Police is to help and care for tourists throughout Thailand. We would like you to enjoy your trip in the Land of Smiles. We can advise tourists about how to take care of themselves, as well as alerting them to some common problems that they should be aware of when travelling in Thailand. Over the past three decades, the tourism industry of the country has grown rapidly. There are more and more foreign tourists every year, bringing in a large amount of revenue to the country. At the same time, problems of crime and manipulation of tourists have been on the rise. The government has set up an organization to be responsible for tourist safety and well-being, in addition to the local Police. Initially, the private sector, in co-operation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand or the Tourism Organization of Thailand, made a special request to The Royal Thai Police concerning tourist safety. The Royal Thai Police consequently set up the Tourist Safety and Convenience Center (TSCC), under the Crime Suppression Division. With a staff of 60 policemen, the center registered complaints, investigated matters, and provided protection and safety for tourists in various places and tourist attractions in Bangkok. At that time, the private sector contributed to the venture by donating vehicles and communications equipment for the Police. Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Police worked on establishing the center as the Tourist Police Division so that it would be a permanent organization, responsible for tourist safety and well-being. The Government approved the proposal, in principle, on 24 November 1976, but there were problems with the budget. the Ministry of Interior was responsible for providing safety and general services for tourists. The Royal Thai Police Department was asked to form the new Police Division which would specialize in dealing with tourists. The Royal Thai Police and the Tourism Authority of Thailand subsequently made some adjustments and changed the TSCC into the Tourist Assistance Center (TAC). The TAC was to provide services to tourists regarding their complaints about crime and manipulation. The TAC’s area of responsibility was also expanded to other popular tourist destinations apart from Bangkok, namely, Chiangmai, Pattaya, Phuket and Hatyai. Later in 1992, realizing the importance of the organization, the Government finally established a permanent Tourist Police Organization at Pattaya - Section 5, Direction Division 8, under the Crime Suppression Division, according to the Royal Decree on the division of Government Organization in the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Interior (the 10th), 2525 B.E. However, with the rapid growth of the Tourism Industry, both in terms of the increasing number of tourists and widespread tourist attractions all over the country, the structure of the Tourist Police Organization at Direction Division Level was not in line with its responsibility to provide tourists with safety and general services. The government therefore changed the Tourist Police Organization to become the Tourist Police Division, under the Central Investigation Bureau, and changed the Section 5, Direction Division 8 into Tourist Police Station 4, Sub-Division 2, Tourist Police Division, according to the Royal Decree on the division of government organizations in The Royal Thai Police, 2548 B.E., and the Ministerial Regulations on the Division of Government Organization or the other name of government organization in the Royal Thai Police, 2548 B.E., which came into force on 1st July 2005. Tourist Police Station 4, Sub-Division 2, Tourist Police Division, is located at 609/1 Moo.10, Pratumnak Rd., Pattaya, Banglamung, Chonburi 20150. Tel. 038 429 371, 038 425 937, Fax. 038 410 044, having the responsibilities in the areas of Chonburi, Samutprakarn, and Chachoengsao Provinces.

With the growth of tourism over the last 30 years a special unit has been set up by the Royal Thai Police force to deal with the safety and well-being of tourists. The officers of the Tourist Police wear a distinctive badge on the their arm and speak English and some other European languages. They can be called upon in all kinds of situations, such as road traffic accidents, theft, disputes with hotels or shop keepers where a foreign tourist is involved. They will act as arbitrators on disputes, and in our experience they do so in an unbiased fashion.

We ask you to provide explanatory data for the application to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Thailand and the prosecution of the citizen [ Redacted] , who has been a public prostitute in Pattaya for more than 14 years, is accused of stealing the personal property of clients in massage parlors, namely credit cards, money and phones. In addition, this person, who is a carrier of AIDS, is especially eager to infect clients. Her actions additionally consist in deliberately, for the purpose of embezzlement, with particular cynicism and by means of deception, seizing money and other property of clients, as well as repeatedly (since several hundred victims are known in advance) and consist in unlawfully seizing other people’s property (money) under on the pretext of providing the services of photographing pornographic content on the Internet, promises of marriage, as well as fake pregnancy and blackmail. At the moment, citizens Paul Leonard, John Savchenkov, Robert Shtelzer, Ernesto Kaimi, Vital Urshek contacted our department, and we are conducting a pre-trial investigation into this fact. The next step will be to apply to the criminal court of Thailand to prosecute this person under the articles of prostitution, extortion, intentional AIDS infection, blackmail and fraud. At the moment, we only have the statements of the victims, the address and telephone number of the suspect and the place where this citizen worked. We are sending you a copy of the accused person’s passport as an attachment to this petition. The victims are ready for a settlement agreement at the stage of the pre-trial investigation, provided that property and money are returned. We will be grateful for your cooperation. police officer Richard Clausd +1 613 235 1127

You will need to contact the police in Bangkok. But the best advice is not to send money to strangers you meet online, even pretty Thai women.

I need help contacting a lady who owes me some money. I have her address and ID information but I don’t have her room number. She is in North Bangkok but the number for Police in North Bangkok does not work/ exist.

You can try to contact the Tourist Police headquarters in Bangkok. Their email address is: [email protected]

Hi hope you are well and greetings to all. I am from the uk and i came to your beautiful country for the duration of one month. I was leaving koh samui island on the ferry loomppraayah and My apple watch battery run out, so i decided to put in my gym bag and placed it in the luggage area on the lower deck of the ferry. There are about 50+ bags already placed. 20mins into the journey i decided to get my headphones as i reached for my gym bag the side pocket zip was opened slightly enough to put your hand in. I noticed my ring which was sentimental to me, cash 5000 baht which is about £60 and my apple watch missing. I started panicking and making noise to the ferry staff. At the same time another 2 people one a couple and young lady both had their items taken phones and cash. As we was arriving to the mainland port we all had to leave the ferry as i am travelling with a big group including holiday reps. We had a minivan waiting for 5hr journey to the city. The ferry staff was no help as they started picking up the next passengers and offloading all the luggage. I was in a rural village with no police station for miles. I couldn’t stay on my own with no money in the middle of nowhere with unfamiliar locations. As soon as i reached the city i went to the police station which the officers were rude and mocking me saying my apple watch is a fake and i bought it from thailand. there was a long wait of other foreign visitors. So i contacted my insurance company barclays and i was waiting on a response. As i was using a thai sim card it was difficult for them to contact me. I gave all the relevant information to them on the day of the incident. I had to wait till i landed back in the uk. The first day i landed i blocked my apple watch with my network provider. Contacted my insurance company as i am covered. They said to me to provide a crime reference number here in the uk. I have visited the police station 3 days in a row waiting 4hrs one day and 3hrs another. The police officer today advised me to do it online. I know this is put the country can you please provide me with a crime reference number so i can give to my insurance company to have a new apple watch. I am sorry for the inconvenience and i would like to put this behind me. It was a horrible experience and ruined my holiday. All i need is a crime reference number so i can be covered in my insurance policy. I have all the information needed flight tickets and evidence the watch is blocked i have the serial number also of needed. Thanks much appreciated

Only the police station you made a report to can give you a crime reference number. You will need to contact them.

Respected Sir and Madam.

I hope this message finds you well. I recently visited Bangkok for a tour and had a rather unfortunate experience with a purchase I made at a shop called xxxx x which is in 4th floor Door no: xxxx x MBK center. I was recommended to this shop by a friend and met the shop owner, Immy, on October 29th, 2023. I inquired about purchasing an iPhone 14 Pro Max or 15 Pro Max, and xxxx advised me to go for the 14 Pro Max due to some issues with the 15 Pro. After some negotiation, I purchased the iPhone 14 Pro Max 512 for 52,500 baht. I encountered some unexpected issues with the phone, including a lower battery level and some scratches near the charging port, despite it being sealed when I received it. When I raised these concerns with xxxx, she assured me that she would contact the company and provide me with a response. However, she did not provide me with a VAT bill as requested, and I have not received any further communication from her. I returned to India on October 30th and am now facing multiple issues with the phone. I am considering taking legal action and would appreciate guidance on how to proceed with filing a complaint with the police. Your prompt assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. Also i am ready to come once again from india to bangkok to complaint against her in front. Also I am prepared to return to Bangkok from India in order to formally lodge a complaint against her in person if rquired.

Yours faithfully, Si Shaik Ibrahim

To take legal action you will need to appoint a lawyer to act on your behalf. They will advise on the best way to proceed with your claim.

We are trying to urgently locate my brother in law who we have not managed to contact over 9 months. His father died a few days ago but we cannot get in touch, he has gone missing. Last we heard from him he was in Chaing Mai – how do we file a missing person report? Do Chang Mai tourist police have an email?

You can contact Chiang Mai Tourist Police by email at: [email protected] Or through their Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/tpdchiangmai221/ But the first thing to do is to ask them to check if your brother in law is still in Thailand.

You should also try posting on Chiang Mai expat Facebook groups to ask if anyone knows him or has seen him.

I m writing this message just to know about one of my best friends who lived in Thailand city Bangkok. She didn’t answer and her phone has been switched off. I don’t have any other family contact.

Sir, My friend from india transfered cash to one of the Thailand national for arranging visa and it’s around 2320 USD. Now there is no reponse for visa and he lost the money. How to refund the money to his account in India. Please guide and do needful. Thanks

Hi. You should contact the police in the area where the Thai person lives. You should only apply for a visa at the embassy or a consulate in India.

I live in the UK and have seen a live video today of a person who is also from UK currently living in Thailand. On live tick tock video he has today pulled a bundle of Thai currency money out of his pocket and with a lighter in other hand he has burnt a Thai currency note. I know this is illegal in my country to do as the Queens picture is on the UK currency. I’m sure he has committed an illegal act by doing this as he had insulted the monarch of Thailand by burning Thai money and the picture of the monarch on the note. I want the Thailand police to take action against this person.

I have screen recorded the live video of him doing this today and have this in my possession. As I’m in UK and only speak English it is difficult for to ring up local Thai police and give a statement but I could give a statement to someone police official who speaks English and can foward the video of this illegal activity through whats app to Thailand police if possible.

Thanks for your concern and for being an ardent royalist. It might be easiest to contact the Tourist Police HQ in Bangkok. Their email is: [email protected]

FYI Burning a banknote, or destroying it by any other means, isn’t illegal in the UK. Defacing one is, that carries a maximum 200 GBP fine. But it’s unrelated to having a picture of the Queen (or King) on it.

hi Jason, I’m in Australia and I too only speak English I was wanting to know did you get any advice or assistance as I would love to be able to email the police at rayong regarding a concern for my partners son who lives there but we have not been able to contact for a month . anyone with advice or information please email me at [email protected]

As your IP address is in Lagos, Nigeria, I don’t think this is true. Please don’t waste people’s time or joke about suicide.

My son paid a retailer in Thailand who refused to send his items. It’s around $150 USD. Can I lay a complaint with the police for fraud?

You can. Although the time required and expense of hiring a lawyer to help deal with it will far exceed the amount you claim your son lost.

I was on holiday in Bangkok and my wallet was stolen and several transactions had been done using my credit card. Can I know if I could make a police report online?

Try contacting the Tourist Police in Bangkok, they should be able to help you. https://www.touristpolice.go.th/en/contact-us

You should go to your local police station to report it.

hello, is there anything in the police power to stop online harassment. a man has been sending me nude images after sleeping with my wife

Yes. You can report it to your local police station.

I was a victim of an online scam and filed a complaint with the Thai police and to this day I have not received any response. Is there any way to see if my case has been followed up or if the offender has been caught?

The only way would be to contact the police who are handling your case or hire a lawyer to act for you and have them handle the matter.

Thanks for your response, How do I know who is handling my case? I filed my online complaint at https://tcsd.go.th/%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%88%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%87%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B8/ Once I finished my complaint I got a message saying: “Form has been successfully submitted. Thank you” I never got contacted by email, did not get any reply, response or case number. What will be the best thing to do or get in contact with? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can contact them here: https://tcsd.go.th/contact-us/

I sent an email to [email protected] but have not received a response yet. Is there a specific email where I can contact them or contact you for further assitance? My native language and country of residence is not Thailand and verbal communication is difficult for me. You have been the only place where you have responded to my messages, which I am very grateful for your valuable support. Thanks in advance

Three Pakistanis went to visit Thailand on a visit visa, whose names are Amjad, Hansain and Muazam. The last i contact them yesterday was when they were going from Chiang Rai City to Bangkok City. After a while, their last messages came. we are in police station and after that there was no contact please help us to find them We are very worried we would be very thankful to u

I’m sure they will contact you when they can. If they have been arrested then they will have their phones taken off them. They can request contact with a representative from their Embassy. Or if the situation is serious the plice will notify the embassy. So if you contact the Pakastani Embassy with their full names etc, they will be able to check if they have had any report of them being detained.

(However, a more likely scenario is that the three men might just be enjoying their time in Bangkok and needed an excuse for them to be out of contact with their families for a while.)

I’ve been scammed and I transferred the money to that person and he blocked me and never returned my mom. Who should I contact and get help from?

Contact the police in the town / city where the person you sent money to was located.

Good day Sir I transferred money from an overseas account to a bank in Thailand to purchase merchandise but the the company has never shipped the product. I called the bank and they asked to contact the police, but I don´t know with police department to contact. Can you please assist in this matter, so I can provide all the details?

You’ll need to contact the police in the area where the company you sent the money to is located.

Then if you search for the name of town or city you can find the local police station to contact.

Thank you for your reply sir. I reside outside of Thailand. This is the address of the company

SOI 34/2 NAI MUEANG SURIN DISTRICT SURIN 3200 THAILAND

You can contact the Surin police here: https://surin.police.go.th/Surin_Police/

Thank you sir

Same thing happened to me Mr. Jorge when trying to purchase a John Deere tractor. After I transferred money through wire transfer from an overseas account to a bank in Thailand, the next day he sent me the Proforma invoice and the Bill of Lading. My surprise is that when I put the serial number of the tractor that he is selling and sending me in the search browser, it appears that it corresponds to a tractor in the USA. The videos sent were YouTube videos that he had downloaded and edited, as well as the images. Then I kept digging and started to track down the container number provided on the Bill of Lading and it turns out that this was an invalid number. The IMO: 8318879 that they provided me corresponds to the CATHAY MORSKI ship which has the current status of: Decommissioned or lost. When I called the seller and complained about the false information they had provided me, he told me that he will contact me, that he was going to call the shipping company (which is fake too)

However, what he did was block me from WhatsApp, I try to call him regularly to his phone but I am blocked too, he doesn’t answer emails or any form of communication.

Hi Mr Jose Thanks for sharing you experience with regards to your hardiship. We have contacted the bank but they told that they cannot do anything unless they have the report from the police. They provided the site http://www.thaipoliceonline.com to report the problem, but unfortunately the site is in thai language, which I don´t understand. Previously we report to the Distric where the fake/hidden company, but they haven´t provided any help. It´s really hard to understand this modus operandis and seens that things continues and not action is been take even providing all the fakes paper (BILL of Landing…) and other proof of payment to the bank. Do business with Thai companies can be a suicide

good morning please I need your help please I transfer money to a company in Bankong…but he loaded less and wrong sizes so now am asking him to return back the amount of goods not supplied please I need your help

You should contact the relevant police department in Bangkok and they will assist you.

This is Solomon from India I came Bangkok touring, I cought by humans trafficking and i traped by the 3months After being held captive for three months, they left me in a measot without giving me my passport and claimed it was at the Indian embassy. I’m terrified to go to Bangkok and have no idea how to find out if my passport is actually at the embassy. How to go to Indian embassy, I emailed and explained my situation and everything for many times to Indian embassy and thai embassy but no response from the. Please help me in resolving this predicament.

I doubt a human trafficking gang will have given your passport to your embassy.

You should contact the police in Mae Sot to report your passport stolen and then ask for their assistance in contacting your embassy to get a new passport. Which you will need if you want to leave Thailand.

My friend is missing for almost two months now. The last location that she told me she was in was Mae Sot.

How do I file a missing person in Thailand to look for her or to find out where is she. Or at least to know if she is dead or alive?

Any website that I can go to check on this?

It will be easiest to contact the Tourist Police. Try the Chiang Mai office : https://m.facebook.com/450426021657784/

You should also contact her embassy as they will have been notified know if she has had an accident and is in hospital or in the worst case, died.

Hi is airbnb short term rental even legal in thailand? I booked but later found it isnt even legal. I am trying to back out but host refused to do so and was being difficult. What can i do? Where in the law enforcement should i look for?

Technically Airbnb is illegal. There again so is prostitution and that is also ignored / overlooked by the authorities.

If you are in Thailand you can try to file a complaint with the police in the area where you planned on staying.

hello swadeeka. I want to ask about bike rental. I have been to thailand various times. I rented a bike. I had proper license and wearing helmet. The Police stops me everywhere and then they hand over a fine of 1000-1500 bath. and then they ask us to go and pay at the police station which is not fair. I asked the police officer at the station about the fine which was for “NO PARKING”. which is totally false. I was riding my bike on the road the policeman asked me to stop and then gave me this fine. It has happened like 3 times, also they pretend that they cannot understand english so its useless to argue with any of them.

Please tell me what to do in this situation as i will be coming there again.

The best thing to do is to call the Tourist Police on 1155. They speak English and can act as an intermediary to resolve any disagreements about the fine etc.

We are writing to seek assistance in filing a report for a scam incident involving our Malaysian friend. She was targeted by an acquaintance who accessed her credit card details, leading to fraudulent transactions. Despite efforts to contact the scammer, there has been no response, and unresolved debt remains. The scammer social media profiles are active, raising concerns of ongoing fraudulent activity.

Furthermore, the scammer used our friend’s identity as a guarantor for loans from online money lenders in Malaysia, without her knowledge, resulting in financial liabilities and distress. We have gathered evidence, including screenshots of communication and transaction records. Our friend plans to report this incident in person next week in Bangkok.

We kindly request guidance on the procedure for filing the report, necessary documents, and potential appointments. Our priority is to ensure relevant authorities are informed and justice is served.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Kindly provide detailed information via email regarding the necessary steps. Thank you for your consideration.

On the 25th May 2014 My ex wife Ms Mithu Mondal was arrested at survahnabhumi International airport with 1.62kg of methamenphatine/ Ya ice. She was sentenced to life in Prison. About two months ago I learnt from a friend that she was not the one arrested because she gave her International Passport to someone who looked exactly like her and the poor lady was arrested and sentenced to life in prison. How can I be assisted by Bangkok police to confirm the authenticity of this information.i needed ur assistance in confirming because if she’s not the one arrested then she is roaming about freely scouting girls for drug trafficking

It seems unlikely that your Indian wife found another Indian woman in Thailand who was happy to go to jail for her.

In cases like this the embassy would have been notified and most likely a representative would have gone to see the arrested woman. If she wasn’t your ex-wife and was innocent she could have quite easily proved this to them and the police.

The best thing you can do is probably hire a lawyer to go to visit the woman in jail who was arrested and see if she is your ex-wife or not.

Am ready to get a lawyer hired for this purpose if I can be able to get connected to any lawyer in Bangkok. If theirs any assistance you can render in this area will be highly appreciated

Contact your embassy in Bangkok, they will have a list of approved lawyers

You can contact the police in Pattaya – the police station is on Beach Road next to Central Festival mall. But as the crime didn’t occur there, they will probably tell you that you have to go back to Bangkok to report it.

Dear Sir I got a jobb offer from Mae Sot, Tak district of Thailand. Could you please help me this job offer is genuine or not?

If it is for any type of IT job it will probably be illegal. Mae Sot is a quiet border town with no industry etc. Mae Sot doesn’t have any legal technology companies based there.

My name is Anna. I’m currently in Phuket, Thailand Yesterday I ordered taxi from hotel Cape Sienna to hotel Patong Heights. The price for the ride was 165 or 168 Bath. When driver dropped me by the hotel he said amount was 285 Bath. I asked why price has changed he said he didn’t know. Appears he changed address into application into some temple and charged me more money. He was also driving with his kid on a front sit. Maybe he was the one to drive then to temple on a holiday. Anyway I’m kindly ask you to investigate on that matter and bring that driver to justice as he robbed me. His name is xxxxxxxxxxxxx The car is Toyota Altis Licence plate number Xxxxxx Best wishes, Anna

Good Day Sir/Ma’am,

To whom it may concern,

I met a guy, he is from Singapore and currently in Khon Kaen (I’m in Bangkok) we known each other for almost 2 months. He ask me to open a bank account for him since he said he can’t open more than 3 bank accounts since he had already 3.And ask me to get him a AIS sim card as well so i did and shipped by courier. Recently he asked me to sell his 2 mobile phone(iPhone 12 Pro Maxx ) since he said his company in Malaysia can’t wire a money to him since the country is in lockdown. Now i post the mobile phone in a marketplace on my personal Facebook account. And someone got interested to buy(i think his also in Khon Kaen), so i gave the mobile number of my boyfriend to the buyer(the sim card i gave him). They talk and agreed about the price(66,000 baht for 2 mobiles). So the buyer transfered the said amount to my personal bank account(Kasikorn Bank) and i transferred it to the seller(my bf) but using my other bank account(Krungsi Bank)since his using it. The seller then said he will Shipped the phone by Kerry Express. Day after the buyer received the package but instead of mobile phone he received a 2 boxes of face mask(he said). The buyer got angry and filed a police report against me(since he transfer the money to my bank account under my name) and want his money back(a refund). So i tried to talk to the seller(my boyfriend) but he denied the allegations and insist that he sent the mobile phone(but the buyer sent me a photo of him holding a box of face mask at the Kerry counter in Khon Kaen). But then he refund 16,000 the same day(last Monday)and said he will refund the money after 4 days(they talk by phone call and messaging me separately). The buyer then agreed and said if i couldn’t give the remaining amount he will ask the police to arrest me. I’m trying to contact the seller but didn’t answer me clearly. What should i do? I’m only in between their transactions and I didn’t even used the money.

I hope you can help me with my concerns.

Thank you very much

I suggest contacting the Tourist Police in Bangkok .

Your boyfriend has obviously lied to you as there’s no rule about having more than three bank accounts & no restrictions on international bank transfers because of covid.

He may be using you to cheat other people. This is quite common.

This site is about the tourist police on Koh Chang island. Please contact the police in the town where you allege the fraudster lives if you wish to make a complaint.

Is there a national agency for missing persons in Thailand?

Example: Someone is reported missing by Thailand and a foreigner (not presently in Thailand) wants to report a sighting or information they have.

The numbers above are for specific locations / are domestic numbers. Is there a national agency or police department foreigners should contact if they don’t know the specific local police department it falls under?

*I apologize for asking on your site. I know this isn’t related to Koh Chang or your agency specifically. But you are the first organization I’ve seen that speaks English well and might know the answer.

There isn’t any central missing persons bureau. Missing person notifications are handled by the police in the area where they lived or went missing. Or to contact the Tourist Police Headquarters, located near Suvarnabhumi Airport, which will be easier for foreigners, see: https://www.touristpolice.go.th/contact

I am a trading company from Hong Kong and believe that I have cheated by a Thailand forwarding company because I have never received any cargoes or tax refund until now.

This is in relation to the refusal of the above mentioned tax refund in the amount of EUR162,000 for the captioned shipment of 500 boxes surgical masks.

After receipt of the approval letter (see attached) for refund issued by the Department of Tax Refunds on 26 March 2020, please note that I have received no reply from the Thailand forwarding company and the relevant consultant since then. So, until today, I have yet received any forms of refunds.

Kindly note that the relevant process of refund was submitted via the Thailand forwarding, consultant and my vendor and their details are as follows:

Forwarding company: Neo trans integration logistics

Consultant: * DELETED * Yannawa/ Sub-District, Sathon District, Bangkok 10120

Mrs Olga Rabus Forwarder/Consultant The Commission Desk for Property Authentication Email: [email protected]

Vendor: PANDT PAPERTEA LTD Liebigstr. Bleibtreustraße 4, 10623 Berlin, Germany Tell : +4915214778446

As I am a buyer/receiver, I am extremely concerned that the above companies are cheating me and they are fraudalent and I could not receive my refunds back immediately.

I believe this is not a correct way of doing business and if they do so, nobody would be willing to import goods from Thailand anymore.

Therefore, I would appreciate if you could assist in the subject matter and check and revert to me urgently by return.

For your information, I have already reported such incident to the Hong Kong Police Force (Case Ref. TKO RN20012784).

Cases like this are handled by https://www.dsi.go.th/en Please contact them for assistance.

Hello. I have a problem with local Thai police on the island of Koh Phangan. They keeping my passport for 4 MONTHS now and not giving it back. They are telling me I broke the COVID rules as my work of place had a gathering of resort guests at the restaurant on March 26th. It was no restrictions at this moment what so ever. They took my passport and 40.000 Baht as a guarantee I will attend court but haven’t charged me with anything for 4 months! It is proportional and I doubt is even legal. I would like to contact someone in higher authority to talk about this case. Who I should contact?

You should contact a lawyer.

i was in touch with an Italian guy who supposed to set up for my company an Android and iOS App. I sent to him some money but now is not anymore answering by mail and phone. The mobile phone is still on and sometimes I see him on line on whatsapp on the thai number. I ve also the recipe of the payment done in Bangkok. How can I report to the police?

It will be easiest to contact the Tourist Police with the details and include the person’s address. Depending on how large the amount involved is, it might be dealt with by the local police in that person’s home area. Rather than Police HQ. Tourist police email: [email protected]

New Tourist Police campaign aims to make Thailand safer for travellers

New Tourist Police campaign aims to make Thailand safer for travellers

Tourist Police Bureau’s “New Year New Normal 2022” campaign launched on Monday will see more security checkpoints set up nationwide with officers on hand to provide assistance and promote safer travel across Thailand.

Tourists will also be urged to download the “Tourist Police i lert u” smartphone application so they can seek help immediately.

The campaign was launched at an event presided over by Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn in Bangkok’s CentralWorld shopping centre on Monday.

Also attending was Tourist Police chief Pol Lt-General Sukhun Prommayon.

New Tourist Police campaign aims to make Thailand safer for travellers

“This campaign was launched as a publicity measure for tourists, so they realise that Thai police, including the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Central Investigation Police, Immigration Bureau, Tourist Police volunteers and the private sector will proactively provide security during the New Year period,” Sukhun said.

He added that the “Tourist Police i lert u” application, which was launched on December 15, aims to prevent crime as it monitors tourists while they are travelling in Thailand, so police can jump to their assistance when required.

The application is linked to the 1155 Emergency Response Centre, which will dispatch police officers immediately. The call centre is available in English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese and Korean, and will next year support French, German and Arabic.

2 New Zealanders attack Phuket traffic policeman

Two visitors are seen attacking a traffic policeman who tried to stop them from violating traffic rules in Phuket on Saturday evening. (Photo supplied)

PHUKET: Two New Zealand men were arrested after injuring a local traffic policeman and trying to snatch his pistol on Saturday evening, police said.

At 3.50pm on Saturday, Pol Sen Sgt Maj Somsak Noo-iad, a traffic policeman from Chalong station, ordered a stop on Hamish Day, 34, and Oscar Day, 36, on Chaofa (East) Road in tambon Chalong of Muang district as they were riding motorcycles fast in a community zone and failed to stay in the left lane.

The visitors did not stop but instead sped up to escape. Pol Sen Sgt Maj Somsak followed them.

The foreigners finally stopped their motorcycles and shouted. The policeman used his mobile phone to record their reactions.

The two men then blocked the recording and attacked the policeman, forcing him to the ground and trying to snatch his pistol. During the fight, the pistol went off once but the bullet did not hit anybody.

Other policemen from Chalong station rushed to the scene and arrested both New Zealanders. They were later charged with robbery, obstruction of police duty, physical attack against a policeman, driving without a licence and bribery.

Pol Col Ekarat Plaiduang, chief of Chalong station, said on Sunday that both New Zealanders were detained at the station and would be brought on Monday to the Phuket Provincial Court, where a request to extend their detention would be lodged.

The station chief said that after being arrested, both men offered a bribe but Pol Sen Sgt Maj Somsak turned it down.

The traffic policeman was injured in the fingers and arms but was treated and discharged from hospital. He would be honoured and rewarded for his work. It was the first case of visitors attacking police at Chalong station, Pol Col Ekarat said.
