Day 01: RANCHI AIRPORT TO SHIKHARJI (200 Kms – 05 Hrs)

Meet our representative at Ranchi Airport and proceed straightway to Shree Sammed Shikharji. On arrival transfer to Uttar Pradesh Parakash Bhawan & Overnight stay at Shikharji.

Day 02: SHIKHARJI

Early in the morning start for the Yatra of Sikharji Mountian, Para Hill by trek or by Doli for the darshan of 11 temples and 20 small temples of Jain Tirthankars and the Saints. Also visit the temples in and around Sikharji, Madhuvan, Rajuvalike etc. Overnight stay in Shikharji at Prakash Bhavan.

Day 03: SHIKHARJI TO PAWAPURI (260 Kms – 08 Hrs)

After early Breakfast proceed to Pawapuri, a Nirwan place of Mahavir Swami, the 24th Trithankar. On arrival Check in the hotel and Overnight at Pawapuri. (210 Kms – 06 Hrs). Enroute visit Guniyaji – The idol of the temple, Shri Gautam Swami Maharaj is seated in a lotus posture, The temple belongs to the times of Lord Mahavira. It is believed that Lord Mahavira visited this place several times and gave sermons seated in Samosarans. Visit the Jalmandir, Samovasaran and the exclusive glass temple at Pawapuri.

Day 04: PAWAPURI TO RAJGIR (40 Kms – 01 Hr)

After Puja Archana, Abhishek, aarti at Pawapuri Mahavir Swami Temple, proceed to Rajgiri to arrive and check in at the Veerayatan – Dharamshala. Enroute visit Nalanda the world famous University, Kundalpur, etc. After getting fresh Start for climbing the five mountains, (1) Vipulgiri, (2) Ratnagiri, (3) Udaygiri, (4) Suvarnagiri & (5) Vaibhavgiri. Also visit the Hot Water Spring situated in between Vipulgiri and Vaibhavgiri.

Day 1: ARRIVE PARASNATH

Arrive at Parasnath railway station and then head to Shikharji. On arrival at Shikharji check-in at Dharamshala. Post lunch, we will leave for Taleti and visit Kanch Mandir, Museum, 20 Jinalay, Samvasharan, Digambar Mandir, Jahaj Mandir, Bhaktamar Mandir, New / Old Bhomiyaji Mandir, Dharam Mangal University (on your own) Chouviar Bhaktibhavna. Overnight stay at Dharamshala.

Day 2: SHIKHARJI

Today early in the morning, we shall leave for Pahad yatra (where 20 Jain Tirthankars attained Nirvana). We shall take the Holy Bath then will go for Seva -Puja, Darshan at Mountain (Navkarsi near Jal Mandir) and later return to Dharamshala. Overnight stay at Dharamshala.

Day 3: SHIKHARJI - RUJUWALIKA - RAJGRUHI

After performing Navkarsi, we shall leave for Rujuwalika by Bus. At Rujuwalika is the Shree Mahavir Swami Temple (Where Mahavir attained Enlightenment). We shall go for Darshan followed by lunch here. Later, we shall visit Rajgruhi by bus. Overnight stay at Rajgruhi.

Day 4: RAJGRUHI

Post Navkarsi, we will visit Shree Mahavir Swami Golden Temple and Navlakha Temple. After Seva, Pooja and Darshan, we will proceed for Pahad Yatra (Shree Munisuvarath Swamijis four Kalyanaks) Ropeway, Virayatan (Bhramin Kala Mandir), Japanese Temple, Virayatan and darshan of different places. Overnight stay at Rajgruhi.

Day 5: RAJGRUHI - LACHHWAD - GUNIYAJI - RAJGRUHI

Early morning, we will head out to Lachhwad by road. On arrival at Lachhwad, we shall visit Shree Mahavir Swami Temple. After Navkarsi, we will proceed to Shatriyakund pahad, which is the birth place of Shree Mahavir Swamiji. Here we will take the holy bath and then perform rituals and seva. After performing Pooja and darshan at mountain Taletima Chhavan, diksha kalyank darshan we will return for lunch. Later, we will head to proceed for Gunniyaji by bus. On arrival, we will visit Shree Gautam Swamiji Kevalgynan Bhumi. After the darshan, we shall proceed for Rajgruhi by road. Overnight stay Rajgruhi.

Day 6: RAJGRUHI - KUNDALPUR - NALANDA - RAJENDRA NAGAR DEPART

After Navkarsi, we will leave for Kundalpur by road. On arrival at Kundalpur, we shall visit Shree Gautam Swami's birth place. Later, we will visit the world famous Nalanda University and then proceed for Pavapuri. On arrival at Pavapuri, we will visit Gavmandir of Shree Mahavir Swami. After Chaouviar, we will proceed to Rajendra Nagara for your drop to railway station to board train for onward destination.

Since it is the land of penance and of nirvana of many Tirthankaras, munies and Sadhus, every particle of this land is great holy. A touch of this land purifies the human birth. All around here Tonks of Tirthankaras have been built. Images of foot prints of twenty-four Tirthankaras and ten Ganadhars have been installed here. Shikharji  ( Śikharjī ), also known as Sammed or Sammet Shikharji, is one of the Holiest pilgrimage sites for  Jains , in  Giridih district ,  Jharkhand . It is located on  Parasnath hill, the highest mountain in the state of Jharkhand. It is the most important  Jain Tirtha , for it is the place where twenty of the twenty-four Jain tirthankaras  (supreme preachers of Dharma) along with many other monks attained  Moksha . It is one of the five principal pilgrimage destinations along with Girnar ,  Pawapuri ,  Champapuri ,  Dilwara ,  Palitana  and  Ashtapad Kailash .

The current structure of temples at Shikharji was re-built by Jagat Seth in 1768 CE.  However, the idol itself is very old. The Sanskrit inscription at the foot of the image is dated 1678 CE. One of the shrines dates back to the 14th century.  Several Śvētāmbara temples were constructed in 20th century.  Pilgrims offer rice, sandal,  dhupa , flower, fruits and  diya .

Travel Schedule

The nearest railway station is  Parasnath Station  which is situated in  Isri Bazar , Dumri, Jharkhand. It is around 25 km from  Madhuban , at the base of Shikharji. Parasnath station is situated on  Grand Chord , which is part of  Howrah-Gaya-Delhi line  and  Howrah-Allahabad-Mumbai line . Many long-distance trains halt at Parasnath Station. Daily connectivities to Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kolkata, Patna, Allahbad, Kanpur, Jammutawi, Amritsar, Kalka etc. are available. Even 12301-12302  Howrah Rajdhani Express  via  Gaya Junction  has a halt on Parasnath station which run 6 days a week.

The Nearest airport is  Deoghar Airport  in Deoghar Dist, known as Baidyanath dham which is famous for Hindu pilgrimage sites, part of 12 jyotirling for Lord Shiva. The airport is 107 km away from Shikharji and a 3-hour drive.

Another airport is  Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport , Durgapur (RDP) West Bengal and a 4-hour drive from the airport. Durgapur has direct flights from Kolkata and Delhi

Birsa Munda Airport , Ranchi (IXR), Jharkhand is also around 180 km (Approximately 4.5 hours), and the drive to Shikhar Ji is quite smooth. Direct flights are available from Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar,Chennai, Delhi, Deoghar,Goa–Mopa,Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore,Mumbai, Patna and Pune.

Trip to Heaven - Sammed Shikharji Yatra

A beautiful yet memorable trip to Sammed Shikharji (Parasnath Jharkhand). It is located in Parasnath Hills with a total trek of almost 30 KM having 24 Jain tirthanker .

We started from Rajasthan Jaipur and only 2 Trains are available, took the train at 4.50 AM from Jaipur and reached Parasnath by 23.30 PM.

From Parasnath took the taxi to the Parasnath Hills which costs Rs 700 for Van and stayed at Beas Panthi.

Took rest for the day and visited Jain Temples which were nearby, also collected Torch , Socks and other accessories needed furing the trek and started the Vandana at 2 AM midnight next day. The total trek was without shoes.

For Lunch and dinner we used the Jain Bhojnalya where we served with the light and good food.

All were ready by 1.30 AM we started to trek the Hills at 2 PM. At starting everything was normal and felling great, slowly we all start getting tored after 5KM trek since the trek was difficult and slope was steep.

We treked for 8KM to chopta tonk at 5 AM and took break for 5-10 min and have some tea.

Heavy Rain started during the journey but we didn't stopped and continue to the vandana.

Awesome weather it was with rains and wind.We visited all the 24 Tirthanker and reached the top at 12.30 PM to Parasnath Tonk. After darshan come back and had Kadha and started to come back from Trek. Parasnath hill took almost 22 KM trek and we need to still go 9KM come down. Come back in evening by 3.30 PM and took hot water for legs and rested for the day.

We visited the rest Temples for the day and took the return Train at Night 3.50 AM from Parasnath station and reached Jaipur back.

Sammed Shikharji

Sammed Shikharji is the most holiest of all the pilgrim places in Jainism. It is the land of salvation of 20 Tirthanakars of Jainism.

History – Madhuban, the eastern most Jaina ‘temple-city’, embedded among trees at the foot of Parashnath Hill (better known as Sammed Shikharji or Sammed Shikhar or Sammedha Shikhara or Samet Shikhar), has a very ancient history. It is beleived that the Twenty Tirthankaras of the present group of twenty- four tirthankaras and a number of Tirthankaras of the past groups of twenty- four Tirthankaras, attained salvation on this holy land.

Sammed Shikharji comes to life hours before sunrise. The priests, pilgrims, begin to climb the hill as early as three in the morning. By the time they finish their expedition across this hill they will have walked about twenty-seven Kms: nine up, nine round the five peaks, and nine back to Madhuban. The expedition across this mountain an unforgettable experience even for a newcomer to Jainism. The upper nine Kms they have to be walk barefooted the hill is laid out in such a way that it guides even the inexperienced pilgrim to all the twenty and more holy spots marked by small shrines (tonks) containing the footprints of the tirthankaras.

The highest (about 1360 m above sea level) of all these is the shrine of Tirthankar Parshwanath. Bhagawan Parshwanatha is believed to have attained nirvana at the age of one hundred during the eighth century B.C. at this place. In this temple we can find an underground cell, it is once again the Jaina symbol denoting nirvana – a pair of rock-cut footprints.

Jalmandir – Under the auspices of Maneksagarsurishvarji Maharaja, disciple of His Holiness Sagarandasurishvarji, the jalmandir and the twenty-nine Devkulikas were installed.

As the name suggests, Madhuvan, the foot of the hill is really a beautiful forest. At this foot of the hill surrounded by hills, trees, gardens and natural beauty, there is temple of Bhomiyadev. There are also a dharmashal, a bhojanashal, a beautiful garden and a group of eleven temples. They remind one of the chief tunk of Palitana.

The ascent on the hill begins from a little distance beyond the Bhomiyadev temple. The ascent of six miles, six miles of round journey for seeing the tunk and descent of six miles make a journey of 18 miles. If the journey is begun at about 5 o’clock in the morning, it is completed at about 4 O’clock in the evening. For a pilgrim, it is advisable to keep a torch and a stick with him. For using on the journey, food is given to the pilgrims, when they return. It is convenient to ascent by the way of the Jalmandir and descends by the way of the tonk of Bhagawan Parshwanath. When the pilgrims climb half the distance, the tonks of nirvana places of Trithankars are seen.

On the way downward, there is a Dak bungalow. There is also the Gadharvanal where food is given to the pilgrims for their use during their journey. From the hill, the group of peaks of temples below, looks like a divine city. The building style and artistry of all temples of Madhuvan are beautiful and spectacular. In Madhuvan at the foot of the hill, there are eight temples, two Dadawadis and the temple of Bhomiyaji Maharaja. Besides, there are eight temples of Digamber Vispantthis and nine temples of Digambar Terapanthis.

How to Reach – The Sammedha Shikhar Hill near Madhuvan is at a height of 4450 feet from the sea-surface. The nearest railway station of Girdih is at a distance of nearly 25 kilometers from the tirth of Madhuvan at the foot of the hill. Bus service and private vehicles are available. One can climb the hill on foot or in a swinging cot.

Accommodation Details – There are Svetamber and Digambar dharmashalas. There are good bhojanashalas, too. On the hill, there is an arrangement for bathing water.

Ropeway, Japanese Temple, Virayatan (Bhramin Kala Mandir) and do darshan of different places (on your own). Overnight stay will be at Rajgir.

Rajgir- Lachhwad ( 86 Km )- Guniyaji ( 72 Km )- Rajgir ( 23 Km )

Early in the morning at 0400hrs proceed for Lachhwada (04Hrs). After reaching visit for Mahavir swamijis Darshan. After breakfast (on your own) visit Shatriyakund Pahad Yatra, birth place of Shree Mahavir Swami, proceed for holy Bath, Rituals and Puja, Darshan at Mountain Taletima Chhavan, Diksha Kalyanak Darshan. Return back for Lunch and proceed towards Gunniyaji (03hrs). After reaching visit Shree Gautam swamijis Kevalgynan Bhumi, after darshan Proceed to Rajgir (1 Hrs). Overnight stay will be at Rajgir.

Rajgir Kundalpur Nalanda - Pavapuri- Patna

After breakfast proceed to Kundalpur (30mins). After reaching visit Gautam swamis Birth place, Mandir and Darshan. Later visit the world famous Nalanda University and then proceed to Pavapuri (01hr). Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive Parasnath

Arrive at Parasnath Railway Station and then head to Shikharji. On arrival at Shikharji check-in at Dharamshala. Post lunch, we will leave for Taleti and visit Kanch Mandir, Museum, 20 Jinalay, Samvasharan, Digambar Mandir, Jahaj Mandir, Bhaktamar Mandir, New / Old Bhomiyaji Mandir, Dharam Mangal University (on your own) Chouviar Bhaktibhavna. Overnight stay at Dharamshala.

Day 2 : Shikharji

Today early in the morning, we shall leave for Pahad yatra (where 20 Jain Tirthankars attained Nirvana). We shall take the Holy Bath then will go for Seva -Puja, Darshan at Mountain (Navkarsi near Jal Mandir) and later return to Dharamshala. Overnight stay at Dharamshala.

Day 3 : Shikharji – Rujuwalika – Rajgruhi

After performing Navkarsi, we shall leave for Rujuwalika by Bus. At Rujuwalika is the Shree Mahavir Swami Temple (Where Mahavir attained Enlightenment). We shall go for Darshan followed by lunch here. Later, we shall visit Rajgruhi by bus. Overnight stay at Rajgruhi.

Day 4 : Rajgruhi

Post Navkarsi, we will visit Shree Mahavir Swami Golden Temple and Navlakha Temple. After Seva, Pooja and Darshan, we will proceed for Pahad Yatra (Shree Munisuvarath Swamijis four Kalyanaks) Ropeway, Virayatan (Bhramin Kala Mandir), Japanese Temple, Virayatan and darshan of different places. Overnight stay at Rajgruhi.

Day 5 : Rajgruhi – Lachhwad – Guniyaji – Rajgruhi

Early morning, we will head out to Lachhwad by road. On arrival at Lachhwad, we shall visit Shree Mahavir Swami Temple. After Navkarsi, we will proceed to Shatriyakund pahad, which is the birth place of Shree Mahavir Swamiji. Here we will take the holy bath and then perform rituals and seva. After performing Pooja and darshan at mountain Taletima Chhavan, diksha kalyank darshan we will return for lunch. Later, we will head to proceed for Gunniyaji by bus. On arrival, we will visit Shree Gautam Swamiji Kevalgynan Bhumi. After the darshan, we shall proceed for Rajgruhi by road. Overnight stay Rajgruhi.

Day 6 : Rajgruhi – Kundalpur – Nalanda – Rajendra Nagar depart

After Navkarsi, we will leave for Kundalpur by road. On arrival at Kundalpur, we shall visit Shree Gautam Swami’s birth place. Later, we will visit the world famous Nalanda University and then proceed for Pavapuri. On arrival at Pavapuri, we will visit Gavmandir of Shree Mahavir Swami. After Chaouviar, we will proceed to Rajendra Nagara for your drop to railway station to board train for onward destination. Tour & services Ends.

You will also see some of the monuments of the Soviet era such as the Moscow Metro and the VDNKh Exhibition Centre, where leading artists, sculptors and architects have managed to embody the political ideology of the time in the complex’s style.

  DAY1 | MUST-SEE MOSCOW SIGHTS

• Red Square – Moscow's and Russia’s main square, where the Victory Day Parade is held annually in May.
• St Basil’s Cathedral (including interior) – undoubtedly one of the most recognisable cathedrals in the world. Its fairy-cake like domes are unmistakeable.
• Lenin’s Mausoleum – here the founder of the Soviet Union still lies embalmed 90 years after his death. He was briefly joined by Stalin, but Stalin's body was buried behind the mausoleum during the de-Stalinisation period.
• Aleksandrovsky Gardens – these beautiful gardens run along the northern wall of the Kremlin, where once the River Neglinnaya flowed before being diverted underground – previously the kremlin was surrounded on all sides by water. There are many interesting memorials here to historical figures.
• Zaryadye Park - thanks to the creation of this wonderful new park in the very centre of Moscow, the beautiful churches of Ulitsa Varvarka are no longer hidden away and new views of the kremlin and river have been opened up.
• Christ the Saviour Cathedral (including interior) – this is Russia’s main cathedral and one of its largest. It was rebuilt after the fall of the Soviet Union on the site of the original, which was destroyed on the orders of Stalin to make way for a giant Palace of the Soviets. However the palace was never built and instead there was an open-air swimming pool here during the Soviet period.
• Bolshoi Theatre - this is one the most famous ballet theatres for in the world. It is a symbol of Russian culture and national pride. Its name though rather unglamorously translates as Big Theatre.
• GUM Department Store – this grand shopping centre is another famous symbol of the city.
• Ulitsa Vavarka – this is one of Moscow’s oldest surviving streets and it has the highest concentration of old and historic buildings in the whole city. You will find here St Babara’s Church (in honour of which the street is named), St George’s Church, the architectural ensemble of the former Znamensky Monastery, the English Court (an early English embassy) and the Romanov Court (the family estate of the Romanov family before becoming the ruling dynasty).

• The tour is available the whole year round starting on any day, but please take into account that the museum’s working hours and days-off vary so we reserve the right to change the itinerary while trying to save the excursion programme.
• Transportation can be changed to a car upon request, but please note that the transport situation in Moscow is not very good, so you could get stuck in a traffic jam.
• Tickets to museums cannot be sold without an excursion with a guide.
• During state holidays and celebrations, Red Square may be closed (either partially blocked off or completely closed).
• All excursions/guided tours included in the itinerary are private which means private guides - unless otherwise stated.
• Best time to travel on this route: from the end of April to mid-October and from December to mid-March.
