Sandy is honestly the best travel agent I have ever dealt with. If you ever need help with anything she is right there to help. She got me through travelling for a family emergency to the US during Covid with 2 children and helped ease my anxiety. I have nothing but the best things to say about her. Thank you Sandy for everything. I will be back to you next time for sure!

Sandy had booked a trip to Las Vegas for myself and several others right before COVID started. She remained in contact with us from the start of the booking until she recently got the whole group a full refund. She is incredibly professional and had reached out to us with every travel update even before we had a chance to ask her. As soon as we can travel again, I will be booking through Sandy and she will be our travel agent from now on! Thanks for everything Sandy :)

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have never been on a trip out of Canada together. I always put it off and got overwhelmed when looking at all the different places to go that would suit our needs. This year my husband was determined to go on a trip. So I wanted to find a travel agent that was local, not a large company. I found Sandy and I am glad we did. She researched Jamaica for us, found out what we wanted and didn't want and found us the perfect couples resort with no kids. She made the process so smooth, it took my anxiety of traveling completely away. Not only did she choose a perfect resort, she ensured I had all the proper paperwork, and a list of what to pack. She was supportive from start to finish. I would highly recommend getting Sandy as part of your trip planning process, she is well educated in travel, easy to talk to, and fun. We had a blast, thanks Sandy!!

Fantastic experience: I was determined to go to the Bahamas for our honeymoon, but without Sandy’s help we would have ended up stuck in the hurricane in the Bahamas!!!! If you want a stress and worry free vacation, just talk to Sandy. We have booked a few vacations with her and couldn’t be happier with our memories and experiences. Sept 2019 Sandy helped us find our honeymoon destination!! It was not an easy process, and she gave 110% with so much patience and care! It was absolutely perfect with all the extra perks which were a complete surprise! Rose petals in our beautiful room and breakfast and mimosas in bed in beautiful Puerto Vallart Mexico! We give Sandy 5 stars but we would give 10 if it were an option!

TORONTO — The Travel Agent Next Door has announced several new appointments, including Director of Marketing.

Annabelle Seow, formerly of Merit Travel and Travel Cuts, has taken on the Director of Marketing role, bringing with her years of travel and marketing experience to the team.

In addition, the company has added several new support staff members in Alberta to better service its partner agents in Western Canada. These include:

• Pamela Shaw: Shaw has been a travel consultant for 15 years in both Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta. She most recently served as an associate agent with TTAND but took a step back during the pandemic.
• Rebecca Mueller: Mueller attended the travel program at MacEwan University in Edmonton in 2013 before becoming a travel agent with Flight Centre in the Edmonton area. She joins TTAND in Experienced Agent Support.
• Alaina Salita: Brand new to the travel industry, Salita brings with her Project Management experience having previously worked for Nikoleta & Associates where she managed the student onboarding program. As a Travel Agent Co-ordinator, she will be responsible for onboarding new travel agent partners.

According to Flemming Friisdahl, TTAND founder, the company saw its best-ever sales in March 2022. The month also saw the company’s highest payout of commission in its history.

“I am sure I am like many people who have recognized we need to learn to live with COVID and any new variants,” says Friisdahl. “The good news is we are learning how to live with it and we are seeing consumers starting to travel in great numbers.”

I joined The Travel Agent Next Door in 2018 as a newer agent to the industry. From day one I have felt encouraged and supported by everyone on our team. The continued training and support is excellent. How often do you hear from your head office "What can we do for you?" The entire team across the country is unmatched. The team is so approachable and provides personal attention when you need it. The agent website is continually updated with information and resources. I feel very fortunate to have found such a positive community in which to work and live my dream as a certified travel agent - and yes they helped me get certified and supported me the whole way! I have been a home-based agent for 12 years, and moved to TTAND aoubt 2 years ago, and have not regretted the move at all. Flemming makes it a point to call and talk to each primary agent at least every 6 months, and I am welcome to call him if I need to! The support that is given to agents is amazing! I have not been made to feel that I'm an inconvenience when I ask a question of the support staff, no matter how silly it may sound. I joined Travel Agent Next Door about 13 months ago. I'd previously been with an Expedia Franchise. I'm with Beyond Land and Sea Travel. This is owned and managed by Deborah Clark. I can say without reservation that I'm happy with the change. I find I get great and prompt support. The "parent booking platform" TTAND, is big but not huge, and therefore with my Agent Partner and TTAND I'm enjoying myself and am only looking forward to good things.

I started in the travel industry in what I consider the fun years...the 70's! Yes travel was easy, travel was fun, travel was inexpensive, and I loved every minute of it. Times have changed and especially now, with Covid19 hitting us worldwide. Although we have been hit hard, the head office of The Travel Agent Next Door has kept us informed on the position of the company, how this affects us and what we can expect moving forward. Yes we would all love a crystal ball, however, that is not being realistic. But the folks at TTAND (The Travel Agent Next Door) are keeping it real and keeping us informed constantly. The ability to work with a Primary Agent to sort out the many challenges in the travel industry is one of its best features but there are a multitude of other ways in which Flemming and the TTAND staff work to make our job as rewarding as possible. The support staff at Head Office are without compare. And my senior travel agent, Coreen Doucet, well, words are not adequate; she is beyond amazing. A hearty thanks to those in TTAND who make the systems more capable and this work more enjoyable.

The very best host agency. It's Day vs Night compared with the other host agency whee I received next to no support from the Head Office. I work as an associate agent and provide a percentage of my commission to a senior agent in order to have coverage during my personal travel and to avoid some independent agent administration; it works perfectly for me as my senior agent is superb. As well, the mutual support freely provided by fellow TTAND agents on the facebook group pages is amazing. Can't recommend TTAND any higher.

One of the best business decisions I ever made was to join TheTravelAgentNextDoor. TTAND puts the agent needs first, in fact, they often identifying and resolving a need before the agent even realized that "this" would make life easier. Everything to facilitate booking, paperwork, followup and more is taken into consideration, including how to best reward & pay the travel agent using win/win math to come to the best possible way forward. Much is due to the personal experience Flemming and Penny themselves have on the front line of selling travel -- both are simply amazing people in their own right.
