How to get from Medan to Lake Toba by train and bus

How to go from Medan to Lake Toba by train and bus

Lake Toba is the largest lake in Southeast Asia and one of the highlights visiting Sumatra. The nearest big city is Medan, and it takes about four hours by road to travel from Medan to Parapat (the main city on the lake).

There is also a railway network in North Sumatra, with Medan as the hub city. One of the railway lines goes from Medan to Siantar, which is about three quarters of the way to Parapat.

Medan Railway Station

With a bit of planning it’s possible to get to Lake Toba by train and bus, but after reading this article, you might find that it’s not worth the hassle.

Medan to Lake Toba Map

Medan to Lake Toba by train and bus

Medan to Lake Toba by train and bus invloves getting a train from Medan to Pematangsiantar (also known as Siantar) and then getting transport to Parapat. At Parapat you can get the passenger ferry to Tuk-Tuk on the island of Samosir in Lake Toba.

There is only one train a day in each direction, so you have to plan your trip accordingly.

KA Siantar Ekspres

The train from Medan leaves at 12.05. I bought my ticket at the station and it cost 22,000 IDR (approx $1.50 USD). Tickets are sold on the official website at kai.id , but I could not get the tickets to show. It’s not a user-friendly site for those of us who don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia. Tiket has more user-friendly site but I also had trouble finding tickets.

Medan-Siantar timetable

The train is all-economy seating with assigned seats.

Economy seats to siantar

The trains in Sumatra have seated toilets…

…and squat toilets.

There is no wifi onboard and no food service on this route. The views on the way are a combination of farmland (rice fields), forests, rubber plantations, and palm oil plantations. Lots and lots of palm oil plantations.

A view of palm oil plantations through the tinted windows of the Siantar Ekspres

The train arrives at Siantar at 14.48.

Arrive at Siantar

Once you exit the station you will be greeted with the usual gaggle of taxi drivers looking for customers. There is no transfer bus of any kind, or instructions of how to get to Parapat. It seemed that I was the only one taking this convoluted way of getting to Lake Toba.

Outside Siantar Station

I was approached by a motorbike taxi rider, and without having any better idea of what to do I said “Parapat bus”. The rider took me across town to the minivan station for Parapat. The motorbike taxi cost 20,000 IDR. If you have Gojek or Grab you could enter the minivan stop as shown on the map (correct at the time of my trip).

I arrived at the station at 3pm and a minibus was just about to leave. I said to the driver “Tuk-Tuk”, and that was enough for the driver to know that I want to go to the ferry pier for Tuk-Tuk. The minibus cost 25,000 IDR.

The minibus was dilapidated and cramped, with people and cargo getting on and off throughout the trip. Here is the photo of the legroom.

Legroom in minibus

The trip took 1h 15m to go from Siantar to Parapat. It doesn’t look far on the map, but the road is narrow and full of traffic.

Siantar-Parapat traffic

The driver will drop you off at the market next to the pier.

Minibus in Parapat

The next ferry was at 4.30pm and it takes 30 minutes to make the crossing. The Parapat-Tuk-Tuk ferry cost 25,000 IDR.

Passenger ferry to Tuk-Tuk

The ferry then goes around the Tuk-Tuk peninsula, stopping at the main hotel piers, which takes another 30 minutes (I was at the last stop). I got to my hotel at 5.30pm.

Samosir Cottages Resort, Tuk-Tuk Lake Toba

Lake Toba to Medan by bus and train

The return leg is more complicated because it can’t be done in one day. I did it for the sake of this article, but it’s not worth it unless you really want to get the train.

The problem with this leg is that the one train from Siantar to Medan leaves at 6.40 in the morning. It’s impossible to get the ferry and bus from Tuk-Tuk to Siantar before then. I stayed in Siantar the night before to get the morning train.

Going from Tuk-Tuk to Siantar, I got the ferry to Parapat, and then asked an angkot (shared minivan) driver for the Siantar bus.

Parapat transport area near the ferry pier

I was taken to a cafe to wait for the bus. The bus arrived and then drove to the bus station. It’s a chaotic system, but you just have to resign yourself to it and trust it will work.

Parapat bus station for Medan

This time I was put on a big bus with nice seats and leg room. The bus took 1 h 40 m, which is slower than the minibus. This bus continues to Medan, so it gave me a preview of what my trip would have been like if I just got the bus instead of this ridiculous two-day trip. The big bus from Parapat to Siantar cost 25,000 IDR (same as the minibus).

Medan bus at Siantar

I’ve been to Lake Toba a few times, but I had never stopped to look around Siantar. I’m happy to visit almost anywhere once, and I like visiting random provincial cities after being somewhere touristy.

I marked out some likely sites on Google Maps and had a wander around.

Pematangsiantar flower park monument

There are some interesting old shophouses in Siantar. It’s too bad they have not been put to good use.

Pematangsiantar old shophouses

I went to the station to get some photos and make sure there wasn’t another train (there wasn’t).

Siantar Station

There is a cool cafe opposite the station, but I found out it’s not open when the one train per day departs.

Siantar station street

The train from Siantar departs at 6.40 and arrives in Medan at 9.42.

Siantar to Medan timetable

I hadn’t booked any tickets in advance while using the railways of Sumatra, and there were plenty of seats on the trip from Medan to Siantar. When I arrived at the booking office in the morning I was told it was standing-room only. All the assigned seats had sold out.

People can book on the KAI app , which appears to be the most popular way. I bought a ticket and resigned myself to standing for the next three hours. I could hardly complain for $1.50.

Siantar-Medan ticket

In the waiting area I noticed a lot of women without luggage. It was Sunday morning, so the train was most likely day trippers to Medan.

Early morning train from Siantar

The train was indeed full, so I picked any carriage and took my place in the aisle.

Full train from Siantar to Medan

A man asked my why I was standing so I showed him my ticket. He doubled over laughing when he saw my standing ticket, and everyone nearby had a bit of a laugh as well. They made room for me on these bench seats.

James and new friend on Siantar Ekspres

The group that took me in also shared some breakfast cake with me.

Sharing food

More people got on as the trip progressed, and I ended up being moved about each time as other people took their seats.

Kids on train

The train arrived in Medan on time, which had been my experience on all of the trains in North Sumatra. There are not many trains so delays shouldn’t be an issue.

Kualanamu International Airport to Lake Toba by train and bus

Medan is one of the few cities in Southeast Asia with an airport railway . There is no direct service from Kualanamu International Airport to Siantar, but you could get the train from Kualanamu to Medan and then get the train to Siantar. This also might not be worth it because there are direct bus services from Kualanamu to Parapat. You also have to get to Medan by midday to get the train.

Is it worth getting the train and bus combo to Lake Toba?

As a rail enthusiast I enjoyed this trip, but there is a lot of friction involved. Going from Medan to Lake Toba is the best option, depending on your schedule. If you are overlanding Sumatra from North to South then the return leg doesn’t matter. After Lake Toba, most overlanders head towards Bukittinggi.

If you are not continuing further in Sumatra, the nearest airport is at Silangit (Sisingamangaraja XII International Airport) for flights to Batam and Jakarta. That will save you backtracking to Medan.

If you are overlanding from South to North, then it is going to take two travel days to get from Lake Toba to Medan if you take the train.

Future train to Lake Toba

There are plans to extend railway from Siantar to Lake Toba , which would make it a joy to travel to Lake Toba. The plan is part of the government’s 10 New Balis project (now scaled down to 5 New Bali). The plan is to develop 10 (or 5 now) destinations around Indonesia to try and spread visitors around the country instead of just visiting Bali and nowhere else.

After riding the train though, I can see why the train stops at Siantar. It is relatively flat from Medan to Siantar, while the Siantar to Parapat section is more rugged terrain. Then there is matter of getting the train inside the caldera to Parapat.

This future train to Lake Toba might eventually be connected to a Trans-Sumatra Railway . For now though, you will have to be content with the train and bus combo.

Geez. Great there’s a place named tuk-tuk. No chance of confusion.

' src=

September 7, 2023 at 1:04 am

yes confusing when trying to rank for it and there are more articles about 3-wheel transport vehicles

' src=

December 1, 2023 at 2:27 pm

This was about my very 1st trip in Indonesia pre 2000 as backpacker-on the direct bus. As shown-these are for this case really for those not 123% dedicated to using trains by far the better choice-about ev. hour and direct for probably an even lower price as the 3 legs of the combo. Where as Indon. has plenty of local alt transport available, they do not call it tukx2 there-bemo or becak are the more common words for it. In my visit the bycicle becak was the main form.

Great journey. Have you traveled from Medan to Berastagi and then onto Lake Toba? planning on doing this in 2024 and hoping to find public transport

January 1, 2024 at 9:48 am

I didn’t go that way but apparently there are minibuses from Berastagi to Parapat. Being Indonesia, once you are there they will find a way for you to get there. Good luck!

Parapat Travel Guide

Gateway to Danau Toba , Parapat is a great place to stock up on supplies and enjoy the semblance of an urban existence before plunging into the rugged countryside. This is a necessary stepping stone to some of Indonesia’s most interesting backcountry.

Parapat may not have a distinct tourism flavor, but it is well stocked with shops and hotels. Given its status as a secondary transport hub, it’s also well connected to the rest of the region. The main spread of infrastructure is situated on Jalan Pulau Samosir.

The pier to the south of town is the launching point for Danau Toba holidays. Ferries shuttle passengers across the lake to Samosir Island, a destination that was once known for its party atmosphere. Today Samosir is much quieter but still well worth the visit.

Boating activities are offered here, though it is just as well to save these activities for the Samosir Island experience.

Getting There & Away

As the most common entry point to the Danau Toba area, Parapat is well connected to the rest of the region. Buses regularly connect to and from Medan (5 hours), Bukittinggi (15 hours) and Padang (17 hours). Most tourists fly into the region through Medan, a transport hub with international connections to major cities across Southeast Asia .

Things to Do

Parapat attractions.

Water-based activities in parapat include paddle-boat and speedboat rides.

Side trips from Parapat

At the heart of lake toba, this island is a stronghold of the fascinating batak culture. highlights are ornate graveyards, ancient stone carvings and of course, the batak people themselves.

Info September 10, 2023

After almost three years with NO Shared Taxi Service the good news today is that shared taxi service Parapat – Medan (vv) is starting to operate again. Conditions and schedules are still being developed and will hopefully be finalized shortly. At request airport drop or pick-up is also possible. As compared to before Covid a bigger car is used and the number of passengers is now maximum six, which means much more space for luggage. Cost of a seat is at the moment Rp 150.000,--

For latest information and booking your seat please contact us by e-mail at [email protected]  (Only for guests staying with Horas Family Home).

Shared Taxi KNIA Airport - Parapat – Airport Medan

Shared taxi knia airport to parapat.

Inside the arrival hall, just opposite the ALPHA MART, a small super market, is the Information and Taxi Desk. Unfortunately, taxi company names are not shown, so guests may not feel comfortable approaching this desk. This stand is primarily operated by Nice Trans providing shared taxi services to Parapat.

Outside the Airport, just before the big parking place, there is another taxi stand, in principle for transportation to Medan. If you ask here for shared taxi service to Parapat one will call Nice Trans for you.

The shared taxi service is operated regularly on a minimum number of 6 passengers basis. This is transportation only, no touristic stops. If full, 7 passengers, the cost is Rp 75.000,-- or Rp 80.000,-- per seat. Should you wish you can buy extra seats at the regular price. Otherwise you may have to wait for minimum 5 fellow passengers, which may take a while.

‘Transportation only’ means that you have hardly any say over your driver or over your fellow passengers. It means that smoking may be allowed in the car and your driver may be the crazy racing star driver training for the upcoming F1 races.

Most likely you will have just one stop en-route to Parapat. This may be a sanitary stop at a petrol station or a stop at one of the Dodol Shops in Pasar Bengkel. Around lunch time your driver may suggest to stop for a quick lunch and if everybody agrees your driver will pick the restaurant for you. This will then be one of the best Nasi Padang Restaurants which your driver can find. If you are not familiar with Nasi Padang Restaurants you will possibly be happily surprised with how fast the food is served and the quality of the food. You will possibly also be surprised with the bill, maybe not happily, but making your drivers day.

Normally the technical state of the shared taxi’s is quite ok. The service is operated with cars such as Kijang Innova, Avanza, Suzuki APV or similar type and make. These cars seat 7 adult passengers apart from the driver, with not too much space for luggage. If you travel with rather big suitcases or backpacks you may consider buying an extra seat for your luggage.

Shared taxi service from the Airport to Parapat is also operated by transporters based in Parapat with haltes in Medan. These are:

PT. BAGUS HOLIDAY’S   (Tour & Travel)

Parapat          (Kantor Pusat)

Jl. Pelabuhan Tigaraja No.02

HP:      081362397309

            085270055172

Jl. Sisingamangaraja No 130 B  (Depan T. Pahlawan)

HP:      081382967462

You have to arrange this service before you come to Medan to enable these transporters to pick you up from the airport. Cost of the shared taxi seat is also Rp 80.000,-- but you may have to wait at the Airport or ‘the halte’ in Medan for fellow passengers to fill up your shared taxi.

Shared taxi Parapat - KNIA Airport or Medan

The system is the same as explained above. The shared taxi’s are operated by the operators as mentioned above. You can just go with the ferry to Parapat and report to one of the operators or try to book a seat ahead, which may give you possibly a little bit of advantage over fellow travelers in your seat assignment.

The shared taxis drop you at the Airport or at any place in and around the centre of Medan.

Shared taxi Medan - Parapat

When based in or around the centre of Medan just give one of the operators a call and arrange the time with them to pick you up from your place. Most likely they will bring you to ‘the halte’ where you may have to wait for fellow passengers. During high season, when all the cars are on the road, the picking up may not work and than it is better that you report in person to ‘the halte’ of your preferred transporter.

Hello, my friends who love indonesia!

Thank you! i want that my first Indonesia to be errorless!!!!

' class=

I'd stay in Medan the night before. Its nowhere near as interesting and picturesque, but safer.

Dear Toratora,

So you will have ample time to catch your 15:30 h flight , if you are travelling during the regular season and make sure you are on the 07:00 h ferry. In this regard please do keep the following in mind:

Most of the accommodations in Tuk Tuk are not served by the 07:00 h ferry. To catch the first 07:00 h ferry report to the Sosor Galung Jetty or the Silintong Jetty well before 07:00 h.

The ferries are referred to by the top of the hour departure times. Now it is good to know that these ferries never go late but may depart well before the top of the hour.

This morning I saw the 08:00 h ferry departing from the Sosor Galung Jetty at 07:40 h. I also noted a few guests coming to the jetty at 07:50 h and heard them complaining that they had missed the ferry.

In Parapat at Tiga Raja Harbour take a shared taxi to the Airport at a cost of Rp 80.000,-- per seat. Just make sure with the operator that your shared taxi will depart before 09:00 h.

There is not really a last bus from Parapat to Medan. Buses and mini buses go all night. You can catch such transportation at the Parapat Bus Terminal and you will be dropped at AMPLAS in Medan.

The above works as long as you don’t plan to travel during the super high season like just after Ramadan. During that period everybody will work together to make new record long traffic jams and you should schedule minimum 8 to 10 hrs for the ride from Parapat to the Airport.

I certainly defer to HorasSamosir who will have much better experience as a local. Perhaps I'm just being too careful! :)

Thank you a lot!

Departing KNO at 17:30 .. too easy, take the 8 am ferry and still have hours to explore the airport.

Book your taxi seat a day or two in advance .. the front seat for most excitement.

If the booking is possible, then its fine.

Speaking of taxi, is it true that drivers wait until the capacity of their taxi is full? If so, how long would I wait for filling the capacity of the taxi?

At 08:45 taxi full within ten mins following arrival of ferry .. longer waits at other times.

I have another question about transfer to Medan Airport, especially the ferry transport between Samosir and Parapat. Where can I get on the ferry in Tuk Tuk?

QUICK INFORMATION

Getting There

There are 2 airports to choose from to get to Lake Toba, Kuala Namu (Medan) and Silangit (Siborongborong). The travel by land to Parapat, the small harbor town by Lake Toba takes around 3-4 hours from Kuala Namu and around 2 hours from Silangit. The ride from Silangit to Parapat is very scenic.

There are shared taxis from both airports to Parapat. You might have to cope with waiting times and drops/pick-ups of other passengers before you get to your destination. Shuttle busses are now available from Silangit to Parapat, but the schedule is not quite fixed. If you take the shuttle bus to Pangururan you can catch the Damri Bus, which runs 4 trips per day to Tuktuk.

If you are looking for an adventure try the local transport by flagging down a local bus from the junction to the main road from either airport.

We can arrange for a chartered private air-conditioned car with our trusted and English speaking drivers for IDR 1.000.000 from Kuala Namu (Highway road fee included) that takes you to Parapat’s harbor of Tiga Raja A chartered car from Silangit to Parapat is IDR 700.000.

Parapat is connected Tuk Tuk on Samosir Island by passenger boats that run from Tiga Raja every hour, between 08:30 am and 19:00  pm. The ferry ride over is fantastic, just truly peaceful, The boat drops guests right at the Jetty of Tabo for 25.000 IDR/person. In case you run late you can catch the passenger boat from Ajibata until 20.30 to Tomok. The last possibility for late arrivals is the car ferry that runs until 21.00 hrs, on very busy days also later than that. Please call us for directions and a free pick-up in case you come in late via Tomok. We can also arrange for a chartered boat if you arrive late at IDR 700.000.

Car ferry schedules:

There are two car ferries from Parapat to the island. The brand new “Ihan Batak” runs from the harbor of Parpat called Ajibata to Ambarita at the following schedule:

Ajibata – Ambarita 07:30 - 10:00 - 12:30 - 15:00 - 17:30

Ambarita – Ajibata 08.45 - 11.15 - 13:45 - 16:15 - 18:45 - 21:15

The Ferry KM Tao Toba runs at the following schedule:

Ajibata – Tomok 06:30 - 09:00 - 15:00 - 18:00 -  21:00

Tomok - Ajibata 07:50 - 10:40 - 13:30 - 16:30 - 19:30

There are also night buses going from Bukittinggi to Parapat.

Culture & Scenery

Lake Toba is the largest lake in Southeast Asia and one of the deepest and highest in the world with a depth of 505 m. The lake is about 100 km long and 30 km across. Lake-Toba is 175 miles from Medan and can be reached in 4 hours by road. Formed by a stupendous prehistoric volcanic explosion, the lake is enormously impressive. The drama of that cataclysmic birth persist in 500 meter cliffs dropping into the blue-green waters. Surrounded by steep, pine covered sloped, the climate is fresh and pleasant, with just enough rain to support the lush vegetation. The cool and dry mountain climate makes Lake-Toba an ideal place to be compared to the tropical heat and humidity down in the costal plains. They have, though, a rainy season which lasts from october to march. In this period, you will have rainfalls almost every day coming up during the afternoon or early evening, the rest of the day is, hovever, dry and warm. The island of Samosir is right in the middle of Lake-Toba, covering an area of 200 square km. This island is the home of the Toba Bataks. It can be reached in half an hour by boat from Parapat. The villages of Tomok, Tuk-tuk, Ambarita are recommended for traditional Batak houses. It is a tourist paradise, with excellent resorts, beautiful waterfalls, and other tourist attractions. The traditional villages of the Tobanese are also of great interest on this island.

The Batak people live in the hilly region of lake Toba. At the beginning of this century the last Batak were christianized. The Batak form the largest protestant community of Asia. Nevertheless a lot of old traditions were preserved and there are still some Bataks that kept the animist religion called Parmalim.  More than 8 million people are Batak; it is one of Indonesia’s largest population groups. Actually Batak is a general name for 5 groups with different cultural and linguistic characteristics, namely : Batak Toba, Batak Karo, Batak Simalungun, Batak Mandailing and Batak Dairi.

They all believe in a descent of a common ancestor, Mulajadi na Bolon. Moreover, all Batak have in common that they live on the growing of rice and have the same wedding system. The Batak are organized in ‘margas’, large family groups. The members of one marga can only marry a person of another marga. Upon her marriage the wife passes over into the husband’s marga.

Batak parties are very colourful and well worth seing

The Batak Toba group has gained some infamy because of their practice of cannibalism in former time, it is said that they ate missionaries. Well informed people confirm, though, that they stopped doing so a few years ago.

Batak music is well known beyond the borders of Indonesia for its happy and romantic tunes. Almost everybody plays the guitar and there are music and dance performances a few times a week.

The Language

Bahasa Indonesia is a language used by over 200 million residents of Indonesia and millions more world-wide. Bahasa Indonesia or Indonesian Language is both an old and new language. It is based on Malay, which has been the lingua franca throughout much of Southeast Asia for centuries. As a symbol of national pride and unity, Bahasa Indonesia spread rapidly, incorporating many new words so that today, although similar, it is quite distinct from Malay. There are, however, over 300 distinct languages or regional dialects which partly are very distinct from Bahasa Indonesia. Older people may speak some Dutch and the foreign language of choice for business, tourism and study is English.

While it is possible to live in Jakarta without speaking Bahasa Indonesia, it is highly recommended that you obtain a working knowledge of the language. An inability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia will cut you off from the mainstream of society, and dealing with those who don’t speak a foreign language will be very difficult. You deny yourself as well the rich cultural experience of fully communicating with those from another culture. A basic guide to Bahasa Indonesia

Although formal Bahasa Indonesia is a complex language, the construction of basic Indonesian sentences is relatively simple. With its phonetic spelling and uncomplicated grammar, Bahasa Indonesia is relatively easy to learn. Indonesian is written in the Roman alphabet. There are no articles in Indonesian. To make the plural, you simply double the noun: bahasa-bahasa means languages.

Bahasa Indonesia is also lack of complicated verbal tenses. To denote time, a few key adverbs are used. Sudah (already) denoting the past, belum (not yet) indicating what is about to or never to happen, akan (will)denoting the future.

Another basic rule in Bahasa Indonesia: adjectives always follow the noun. Indonesia indah means beautiful Indonesia, pasir putih means white sand(s).

The possessive is made by putting the personal pronoun after the noun. bahasa saya means my language, negara saya means my country.

Indonesia has several traditions and customs and it is best if you know them beforehand. Some of them are:

1. Even though hand shaking is deemed appropriate between men and women, bear in mind that a number of Muslim women prefer to introduce themselves to men by nodding their head, smiling, and clasping their hands without any physical contact.

2. Traditionally, when you greet someone, both hands are used when shaking, without grasping.

3. It is considered polite to make a phone call first before visiting.

4.  Shoes must be taken off before entering a house or place of worship like mosques.

5. Usually drinks are offered to guests.

6. When eating, receiving or giving something, always use your right hand. Right index finger should not be used to point a place, items or people. Use the right hand thumb and fold the remaining fingers to be more polite.

7. Taking photographs of houses of worships is allowed, however permission should be asked first whenever possible, especially if you want to take pictures of the interior.

8. Most Indonesian Muslims do not consume alcoholic drinks and pork.

9. Hence, the tradition of proposing a toast to honor someone is not generally known.

TRAVEL TIPS

1. Plan your budget and choose your destination carefully. Indonesia is vast—each region has its own quirks and possibilities. For instance, if you plan to have some adventure in rugged terrains, it’s advisable to come on dry season for rains might make your paths muddy.

2. Make sure you find as many information as possible concerning Indonesia, especially about the visa. Have sufficient cash ready, usually US$ or Euros are preferred. It can easily be exchanged in airports, hotels, banks or reputable money changers. Customs might ask you to show how much money you bring.

3. Dress sufficiently. If you are female, make sure you dress accordingly. Skimpy clothings in public area, save from beaches and pools, might warrant unwanted attention.

While some tourists choose to stay in one of the more pricey resorts on Samosir Island, there are many who prefer to stay in one of the best Parapat Hotels in Medan Indonesia. One advantage of staying in Parapat would be the extended time that visitors could have enjoying the magnificent view of Lake Toba from a vantage point.

Here are some of the best Parapat Hotels in Medan Indonesia:

Hotel Niagara Parapat (4*)

Located on a hilltop, this hotel has the best, unblocked, & elevated view of the great Lake Toba. Although it’s pretty dated interior-wise, it’s still superior compared to its surrounding 3-star hotels. It is also more well-equipped in terms of size facilities with its outdoor pool, basketball & tennis courts, karaoke room, and even conference rooms.

Inna Parapat Hotel (3*)

Situated right by Lake Toba, this hotel offers panoramic Lake Toba & Samosir Island views. Like many other hotels in the area, this hotel is also pretty dated. There’s nothing fancy in terms of facilities as they are mostly basic and functional.

Atsari Hotel Parapat (3*)

Sitting on the coast of Lake Toba, Atsari is a basic, fuss-free hotel that offers gorgeous view of Lake Toba. You could take a 5-minute walk to Lake Toba and really soak in the amazing atmosphere around the Lake. Staying in this hotel would give you more of a boutique or resort feel rather than a modern city hotel. It’s arguably one of the better hotels in Parapat.
