Z E R O stars if allowed‼I took the Best of Japan trip in April 2023, what a nightmare! Before leaving to Japan we had issues with the travel agent & the agency manager. #1 they purchased the wrong insurance package, #2 - I was overcharged for the flight, #3 the refund was not returned to me because the owner was on vacation, so I would get it then. #4 they booked a 9 hr. layover flight, #5 they misspelled my companions name on the travel ticket and we were delayed at the airport. #6 The Agency does not answer the emergency numbers, #7 the tour guide was inexperienced, who spent more time arguing with the driver during the trip, she also had very limited knowledge of sceneries, barely explained the sceneries or history. #8 last day in Japan and the agency didn't take care of the ticket situation. The agency does not apologize nor expresses any sincerity for correcting any issues. DO NOT HIRE THEM TO MESS YOUR VACATION‼

After I came back for 10 days 8 nights China Discovery Tour from Ritz Tours on July 2017, I felt very disappointed and did not recommend at all. This tour was totally different than a few years ago that my co-worker came back and told us to join this tour. We did left voice mails and emails to complaint and did not get any response and result from Ritz tours. Unprofessional and inexperienced tour guide, who spent 90% of the time talking to driver during the trip, and did not interact with us, also she had very limited knowledge of sceneries, barely explained the sceneries and all she said was walked by ourselves and met us within the time flame. Lunches were inedible with a huge lack of meat and vegetables with an odd odor. All of us hardly touched the meals. We did complained to the tour guide and she said those foods were from country side. "But we joined the luxury tour and expected the good food." Suzhou excursion was completely ripped off ($380 for party of four). We spent about one and a half hours in the car ride each way, forty five minutes at The Master of the Net Garden. Eat early lunch around 11:30 in a local restaurant. We told her it was too early for us, we just had breakfast at 8:30am. She said that we had no choice. After lunch, we spent about twenty minutes at the Suzhou Canal River with little history of the canal. She did not provide any information about scenery. Suzhou often called the "Venice of the East" expecting the manual boat ride not the motor boat. Unfortunately we were in the motor boat ride. Once we reached the Entry of Suzhou Village, the boat turned around and we didn't have a chance to walk around. The purpose we chose the package was to walk the Village and discover its highlights on a guide tour. When we requested her to walk around inside the village, she told us that it was not part of the tour package. We drove back to Shanghai and were dropped off before 3:00 pm. We felt we were so foolish to join the Suzhou tour.

Thank you for your repeated comments and feedback to us here on Yelp. We hear you loud and clear when you wrote to us on August 7 whereby we have replied directly to your email address on August 16. Your current claim of not getting any response from us about this matter is indeed baffling. Nonetheless, we wish to reiterate that we must sincerely apologize to you and your family for the tour being not up to your expectations. We appreciate your feedback on the tour contents and the need for best guide practices. We have since taken remedial actions against the guide in question and as mentioned in our earlier direct response to you that has gone amissed perhaps in your spam folder, we would like to refund you and your family the full cost of the tour to Suzhou that was considered unsatisfactory. Again, we urge you to get in touch with us by calling me directly at our head office telephone 1-888-345-7489 to arrange for the best route for this refund. You can also please respond to the email sent. We hope to put to rest your concerns as soon as possible and we value your critic to help make us better. Thank you. Sincerely, Iris Yang

Public Safety! It's all about public safety! August 26,2009 was a disastrous trip we ever had. I do not recommend Ritz Tours to anyone. Among many issues, the short version of the comments are: the tour guide was under influence of alcohol on our first night out for a NY night tour. The tour guide insulted American culture while introducing the Lincoln Memorial and The Bell in Philadelphia. The hotel rooms were dirty for our first two nights... I felt so helpless when no one answered my phone call to the emergency numbers, which were provided in the tourist's handouts, for the tour guide became combative after my husband had asked him to re-adjust his standing position for his waiving left arm/hands had hit him. Spoke up unapologetically,, he said that that is his way when he talks, and told my husband that he should be courteous when he talks to him. - -- Yeah! Just unbelievable! and incomprehensible! At the end of the trip, we gave back the company's Q&A survey sheets with all these issues. Furthermore when we got back home, we immediately contacted Ritz Tours at Alhambra office and were instructed to mail a detailed letter to the Ritz Tours at 208 S. First Street, Alhambra, CA 91801, so we did. For the PUBLIC SAFETY issues and concerns, we followed up by several mails, emails but failed to receive immediate attention from anyone - from top management to service agent. After more than 30 days the Ritz Tours responded us. Sadly, the Ritz Tours simply said, they've done according to what they had advertised for the Hotels, and neither apologized nor expressed any sincerity for correcting those issues. I wonder if they are ever going to improve the quality of service. So, NEVER RITZ TOURS!

This review is for a Peony Tours vacation instead of a Ritz Tours vacation, although the former is a subsidiary company. Ritz Tours do not offer USA East Coast tours. We appreciate every guest's concerns and feedback. Public and client safety is of utmost importance to us. Since this isolated incident, all necessary steps to correct the situation were made. We guarantee that our tour guides operate under the highest quality standards of service. Thank you.

I actually went on my Ritz tour to China a couple of years back, but based off another review on this page (John), things seem to be pretty similar. The wife and I did a 2 week tour around China. Pros: -tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Spoke English well (although he usually spoke for around 5min in Mandarin, and then 1min in English, so obviously the English was an abbreviated version). Fortunately my wife speaks Mandarin, and could give me the extra details. -visit a lot of places, pretty full itinerary (this can be a pro or a con) -everything is basically covered, so no need to take too much yuan (exclusions are the tip to the tour guide at end, and some optional activities which at that time included a martial arts show, in room massage, etc) -very nice hotels, most of which had free wifi and complimentary bfast (which was also nice) -guide does a good job of making sure that everyone keeps up with the group (in contrast to another locally run Chinese tour that I just came back from which actually lost a person!) -dinners come with complimentary beer -the price: awesome value, considering the nice hotels, all meals included, transport etc Cons (all of these apply to tours in general, as opposed to specifically Ritz): -the mandatory stop at various shops. There are a lot of these, and they do take time (at least an hr per stop). The tour company is definately getting a cut of sales, which explains why they can offer the tour at such a good price... I guess they do the job though, since I ended up buying a few things, including a couple of hundred dollars worth of green tea -the lunches/ dinners are not the best/ totally authentic. You can find better Chinese in Socal. These restaurants are designed only for tour groups. So you don't really get the authentic Chinese dining experience. The food quality was okay. I ended up staying in Shanghai an extra week after the tour ended so I got to experience the proper food - I would highly recommend this -you are basically forced to run at the tour company's pace. This means that you are going to be spending insufficient time at things you may like a lot (for me the Forbidden City for eg), and way too much time at more boring places (gardens, etc). Tour consists of a diverse group of people (it is kid friend and old person friendly).

Wow! What happened to this tour agency? When I took a tour with them in 2008 they were great! Our tour guide was James and he was very organized, very knowledgeable, and really accommodated us when we had problems. He even gave us money to use the toilet when we hadn't exchanged any of our money into Euros/Pounds yet! (They make you pay to use the loo in Europe!) We took the 17 day tour of Europe. The countries we visited during this tour were Italy, France, Britain, Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium! The tour was awesome and its a shame they don't offer it anymore (at least not what I can see on their website). They might offer it though because I remember the tour was only advertised in their brochures but not on their website. So make sure to call them to double check! The tour was approximately $3000 for all those countries and included many meals! It was such a deal! Our main transportation to Europe was by plane, but travel to the adjacent countries were by bus or high speed train (Eurorail). The tour was mostly an Asian tour and our guide spoke Mandarin and English, so I did not have any trouble understanding what was said. The only thing I would have changed were the many meals at Chinese restaurants. Unless we did their optional tours, where an ethnic meal of the country we were visiting was offered, all other meals were at Chinese restaurants! This was mostly because many of the people on our tour were Chinese/Asian elderly people (and I guess they like what they are accustomed to?) Thankfully I did not get sick from eating any of the food which is an indication that the restaurants Ritz Tours took us to were clean and sanitary! (I have a sensitive stomach) Overall (in 2008), I thought Ritz Tour offered a very organized and well planned tour! I'm so grateful I got to visit all those countries! Quick update: Just read the filtered reviews for this business and Kelly C indicated that there are two types of tours with Ritz. One tour is for the Chinese speaking Americans (the one I went on apparently...) going to Asia and Europe (ritztours.net) and the other is towards English speaking Americans going to Asia (ritztours.com). Check out her review. It was flagged (dunno why?) but very thorough on how the tours are like.

I took a Ritz tour to China several years ago so I did not hesitate to book my November 2018 vacation to Thailand with them. Their single supplement rate has increased substantially and they wouldn't budge on the pricing. I was not happy with the air arrangement they offered so I booked that on my own and was then charged an additional airport transfer fee, even though I was included in the same bus with the rest of the group for the flights home But the worst issue was that I was forced to spend my entire vacation with a group of 19 family members having a reunion. The family spoke in their language all the time even with me sitting at their table during meals. I was made to feel I was intruding on a private trip when in fact it was a public tour. Ritz never had the decency to notify me ahead of my leaving from New York to see if I wanted to reschedule. It was so uncomfortable for me that I asked each of the tour guides to seat me alone during meals, which they went out of their way to accommodate me When I returned and emailed a complaint, Olga tried to say Ritz didn't know it was one family, which wasn't true because one of the family members mentioned that one of them made all their arrangements and also the tour guide in Bankgkok knew before they arrived they were a family group I was only offered $200 credit on a 2019 trip Absolute appalling customer service

We booked the Premiere Majestic China & Yangtze River 15 day Tour (Oct 5-19, 2014) and were told if we had 10 people we'd have our own guide. So we got ten people who wanted to go. When we arrived in Beijing we were met by our guide who informed us 8 more people would be joining us. What were we to do? While it worked out OK, we were unable to request private activities due to the now larger group. They got us on this one. All of the accommodations were wonderful, the flights were on time with new aircraft and airports. The Li river tour was interesting but we could have missed that one. The Yangtze was impressive if you could see the banks. The smog is terrible all over China, not just Beijing. You must get to 20,000 feet in a plane before you come out of it. We couldn't see the Three Gorges dam due to the smog. The absolute highlight of our tour was our guide Ocean (not his given name) He was very knowledgeable, witty and made the tour. He took care of everything, tours, flights, luggage. You name it he took care of it. We're all glad we made the trip when we did but you realize that China has made tremendous progress since Mao died but at a tremendous price. You can't breathe the air or drink the water. So sad.

The reviewer booked our tour indeed as a private group almost one year ago in 2014. There was no additional financial commitment requested by us for this particular arrangement, and regrettably an administrative error then did not highlight such an arrangement to our operational team in Shanghai at that time. When this honest mistake was discovered through an email complaint by the reviewer's spouse whilst she was on the trip, we immediately offered to separate their group of 10 persons from the other 8 guests by flying another tour manager to the next tour destination in China to rectify the situation plus separate tour transportation arrangements for their group. We were then surprised by the reviewer's response that had claimed that since it was already in the middle of the journey, plus the fact that their group had had excellent rapport and joyful companionship with the other 8 persons thus far then, they collectively then and there decided NOT to be separated from each other into two smaller groups. We were made to understand that this was a unilateral decision by the reviewer's group (which was also affirmed by the booking agent of the complainant) and our operational team had to rely on and respect their latest ground decision not to be separated. We have also apologized profusely for the operational error to the reviewer and her agent last year, and thought that they were already set and happy with their decision at that time.We had been very upfront and had sought to rectify the situation as quickly as possible - which is exactly why we have been under the same ownership for over 35 years with loyal repeat customers. Reviewer has been contacted. Again, we sincerely apologize to the reviewer for the now claimed dissatisfaction that is contrary to their original decision when the issue could have been resolved or at least mitigated - although we would agree, not in totality. Still, we are glad that our tour quality in terms of hotel selection and guiding experiences experiences were affirmed very positively.

Just got back from a 14 day tour of China. Was run very well, hotels were all top notch 5 star except the last night in Hong Kong which was an older place and not up to the quality of the others. Good deal for the money, but need to mention the little known "forced shopping" that goes with China tours. Apparently, tour groups get very good deals by incorporating stops along the way at government sanctioned "musuems" and "factories" which are thin facades for souvenir shops. This gets pretty old quickly. When your guide says that you will be stopping at a jade musuem, you can expect a brief tour of a small area where jade is cut and polished and then an hour or so let loose in a giant jade store. So, we have all the main Chinese famous exports and their shops added to the tour itinerary- jade, silk, tea, jewelry, etc. useful if you need to pick up some gifts, but very artificial feeling. The government sanctioned dinners and lunches (the Chinese government doesn't want tourists running around getting sick at unregulated local restaurants of their own choosing) are dumbed down for large groups of people, so you miss out on the extremes of local cuisine...no spicy stuff, nothing really scary or exotic. My wife and I skipped these on occasion and foraged REAL food for ourselves, but note that the tour guide may not let you do that. Hotels were fantastic, as I mentioned before, but we had the top end package which has all five star accomodations. Another thing to note is that you will need cash for driver and guide "tips", maybe $10 per day per driver and guide. On a Europe tour we did this before, so it wasn't a surprise, just be aware of it. Days are long- usually from 8am to 8pm or so...would be nice to have more time for yourself, but I suspect this is the group's way of keeping tabs on people and not letting them get lost or in trouble. We had some great local guides and two bum ones (they lacked enthusiasm). Definitely would go back to see more of China with the same agency. My wife is Chinese and our group was mostly Chinese, but a mix of Mandarin and Cantonese, so all of the guides spoke both English and Mandarin.

My husband and I just got back from an 11-day tour of China with Ritz Tours. Overall, it was a good experience, however, there are certainly some red flags you should know in advance before booking. As everyone else has mentioned, there are obligatory stops at a Jade Factory, a Pearl Factory, a Silk Factory, and a place that creates Terra Cotta soldier replicas. While we felt somewhat pressured into buying something, we didn't give in and found similar items at the airport and various other shops at similar prices- they weren't the 'best price' as the sales people would suggest. All of the hotel accommodations were fine, except in Beijing. The New Otani Hotel is outdated- the rooms all smell of smoke and ours had moldy carpet, but they could not change our room because they were 'completely booked'. The breakfast at the New Otani also lacked, but the other hotels more than made up for it. The domestic flights were not on Air China, as the tour advertised. Most of the flights were fine, but just be aware that you'll be flying smaller, lesser known airlines. The cruise was nice. We were sequestered to the 'executive level' dining room on the top floor with the other Americans. It was somewhat odd how they kept us separate, but overall, the cruising experience was positive. The food was terrible. We learned (the last day of our tour!), that tour guide is given an allowance and can take you anywhere he/she chooses. Had we known this earlier on, we would have asked to look at the menu as opposed to simply being served random fried items that were sitting in oil. The best food was the breakfast buffet at the hotels. The Sheraton in Xi'an was brand new when we stayed there- we were one of their first guests, which was good and bad. They hadn't worked out all the kinks (i.e. the internet didn't work and the gym/spa was still under construction), but the rooms were very nice. The guides were hit or miss. We got stuck with a young kid in Shanghai who didn't know much about the city- and he was a bit too shy to be giving tours, but most of the other guides were fine. Overall, China itself is amazing- and the convenience of having someone plan all the transfers and meals is helpful, but be warned that it comes with a price tag.

Lilian did a great job in organizing this tour for us. Through her patience with our requests and changes, it was well organized and planned out. Just returned from the Beijing-Xian-Shanghai-Hong Kong tour. Nina greeted us at the airport and gave us an intro on what to expect. The real tour starts when she introduces the other guide the next day. Ocean and Nina formed a perfect team. We learned about single and married life in China through them. Nina only stayed with us in Beijing and we learned so much about Beijing, will have to come back to learn the rest. Ocean helped us throught the maze at the Beijing airport, in his spare time while we were waiting, he even helped other tour guides get their acts together at the airport so we would not have to wait so long. Lucy teamed with Ocean in Xian and she was very knowledgeable about Xian and shared with us her life in Xian, very impressive. We hope to learn more from her next time also. Ocean kept the group together the whole time. The tour group became family, it was fun getting to know each other as well as experience China together. Ocean stayed with us in Shanghai. He was very knowledgeable about ALL the places we went. He gave us practical information we needed and prepared us well for each of the places visited. He was also accommodating in helpful to make this tour one to remember and one to come back to. He organized us at the airport as we departed our separate ways. +Hope to learn more from him next time. In Hong Kong, we were greeted by Alan at the airport and he stayed with us for the short half day tour of HK. The rest of the time was on our own. We enjoyed HK so much we stayed an extra 2 days. Two and a half days in HK is not enough, but that is what we planned in the beginning, so ends our tour. Too bad there was no direct flight from HK to US. We had to endure the flight back to Beijing then transfer to US.

Travel Styles

Our tours are graded by travel pace and travel styles so that you can find the perfect tour for you.

ritz tours.com

Our Active trips are designed for travelers who want to see lots of places in one tour and are comfortable with the faster itinerary pace and increased travel this brings. Expect a busy schedule with lots of sightseeing, together with more traveling by air, road, or train—or other transport—and significant amounts of walking over short and long distances, sometimes for several hours. Importantly, there’s still free time on each day for you to relax and recharge.

We’ve eased back on the activity levels on our Moderate tours for travelers who want a slightly more relaxed tempo. While the itineraries can still be fast-paced and involve some degree of physical activity, you can look forward to more free time than on our Active trips. Enjoy free days here and there throughout the schedule, as well as some free evenings for you to spend as you wish.

We’ve created our Leisurely trips to provide maximum freedom, so they’re ideal if you want the space and opportunity to do your own thing. With a Leisurely experience, you get plenty of free time to experience your destination as you want—whether it’s sightseeing, cultural discoveries or relaxing at your hotel or the beach. Each trip also offers a choice of optional tours, so you can opt to book organized excursions that interest you to balance your free time.

ritz tours.com

With our Escorted tours, you’ll enjoy the services of guides throughout your vacation to show you around the sights and provide commentary and information on what you see. You’ll benefit from a local guide in each place you travel to—with some trips providing the same local guide throughout and others a different local guide for each city. The guides will be there to answer your questions and provide local insight about your destination during the city orientation and optional tours. When free time is specified on an Escorted itinerary, it means you’ll be left alone to relax and explore as you wish.

Semi-Independent trips are generally medium-paced and often offer more free time than Escorted tours: cue free days and evenings earmarked for you to explore alone or join optional tours. The trips include local guides who offer local recommendations and guiding services on city orientation and optional tours—with some featuring the same guide and others guides who vary across cities, days, and activities. Airport-hotel transfers may be handled by different representatives, while in other cases, you may need to take airport shuttles and short cab rides independently. With these tours, you won’t be provided with porter services or assistance with getting on and off any included ferry journeys.

Our Independent tours are designed with your freedom and independence in mind, essentially leaving you to your own devices while you’re in your destination. The tours include all your travel and vacation essentials—return flights, round-trip airport transfers and accommodations—but exclude the services of guides. The only guides will come as part of any optional tours you book with us during your vacation.

Tour to China

1. On Beijing I was very dissapointed because the lady didn't tell us to bring the umbrella, and everything was outdoor and was very hot. The others from Xian and Shanghai advertise us to bring umbrella. 2. I didn't like the food at lunch, was very cheap and selected by the tour guide. 3. I didn't like that we spent to much time at the jade and silk markets.

Date of experience : October 08, 2019

Dear Sandra, We are sorry to hear that your recent tour to China did not entirely live up to your expectations. We apologize that the tour guide in Beijing did not provide the suggestion to bring an umbrella on tour, like the other guides in Xian and Shanghai did. We hope the lack of an umbrella did not have too much of an impact on that day of touring. We are also sorry the cuisine didn’t match your expectations, but we really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. We will use your feedback to create an even better experience next time. We always aim to provide a fulfilling experience, our goal is to pick the best excursions possible during your trip. Based on your itinerary the tour of the jade and silk markets are not included in the tour, so we investigated the matter. We were informed that the tour guide asked the group if they would like to visit the jade and silk markets; the tour guide received no objections so proceeded to take the group there. We are sorry if this visit to the jade and silk markets did not meet your expectations. Once again, we would like to say thank you for taking the time to rate your experience.

China Discovery tour was not what I…

China Discovery tour was not what I expected. It exceeded my expectations. Our national guide Jean was very attentive and knowledgeable. Joe (our local guide in Xi’an) was also great. Jean travelled with us to Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai. All the hotels were nice and clean. The Dynasty And Actobatic shows were good too. Hotel breakfast had a good variety, were tasty and hot. One thing that can improve is the food (lunch & Dinner). Although it was not bad it would have been nice to eat the food while it was hot. The meals we ate out in restaurants were warm. Overall a memorable trip. Would recommend.

Bangkok/Chiang Mai/Phuket

I had the pleasure of visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mai, & Phuket Thailand and Overall, the trip was good. Of the three places, we enjoyed Phuket and Chiang Mai the best over Bangkok. Bangkok felt a lot like NYC so going on vacation, I really did not want to feel as though I was still in the hustle and bustle of daily life. We were not that impressed with the hotel in Phuket and had to change rooms due to noisy neighbors and a malfunctioned AC unit. Our hotel stay in Chiang Mai Did not have the best breakfast offerings but otherwise, a good trip. The trip was well planned out by Ritz Tours and if I had it to do all over again, I would prefer nicer hotel accommodations in Phuket. The tours to the different temples were informational and an experience to remember. The elephant sanctuary was one of the highlights of the trip that was a pleasure.

Hi Telisa, We are happy to hear that overall your trip to Thailand was a good one, but saddened that not everything lived up to your expectations. We are sorry that not all of the hotel experiences were exceptional. We have shared your comments with hotel management in the efforts to improve our overall services. We appreciate your feedback and your patronage and do hope to see you on another tour where we can provide you with the quality service we are known for.

My friend and I had the luxury to have…

My friend and I had the luxury to have gone on a safari in Kenya in December 2021. The guide was fantastic in his knowledge of animals and was accomodating to stay longer at times to take more pictures. We went on a couple of outings that were not scheduled and they were the best. It was once of a lifetime experience as we saw all the animals on our list. Kenyan staff were organized, friendly and helpful. Hotels were absolutely great in their location ( in wilderness). Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Just, at times, the shower did not work well but Ritz has no power over that. Food was good, wine from South Africa was light and palatable. It was probably the best trip I ever went to.

Peru Explorer

I had one of the best experiences with Ritz Tour on their 8 day Peru Tour. The service was exceptional and the tour was well planned. I loved how we didn’t have to wake up extremely early and how the food choices were always delicious. I always felt like they considered our needs and safety. I was always in contact with them and they were very helpful. I couldn’t recommend a better tour. Will definitely be taking more tours with them.

Fantastic trip

We had an excellent experience with Ritz tours to China. Tourist interest in China appeared to be down. Despite picking a popular time (Sept.) to travel in China there were only four guests for the entire 16 day package. Despite this, Ritz never considered canceling and provided an individual guide for the four of us for the entire tour. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and fluent in English. Our small group size allowed easier and more efficient travel. There was no waiting for tickets or transportation. The guides took care of everything including helping us to check in at each airport. The hotel accommodations were very good and in two instances absolutely luxurious. Food was very good and in the case of the hotel buffets very bountiful and full of variety. During free time the recommendations of our guides helped us to find local shopping venues, public parks, restaurants and even successful navigation of the Beijing metro. Among many highlights, the Li River cruise, terra cotta soldiers, Great wall and Shanghai acrobats were standouts. Our daughters toured with Ritz 12 years ago and had a similarly fantastic time. It's good to see that they are still doing a fine job.

Hi William, thank you for your incredible review. We're so happy to hear that your experience was a positive one. We look forward to seeing you travel with us again soon! Ritz Tours

It was a well arranged and performed tour. I would have given 5 stars but in the last section of the tour in Shanghai, the hotel change was not appropriate and Ritz Tour should not have allowed the hotel to make that decision to shift us to a different hotel that was not yet fully functional.

Date of experience : November 02, 2018

Hi Suresh, Your detailed review about an unforeseen hotel change is incredibly helpful and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention! We'll be sure to forward this feedback on to our team. We're happy to hear that the rest of your trip was pleasant and look forward to traveling with you again soon! Ritz Tours

Enjoyed the Tour of all countries very much. Our Tour Guide was considerate knowledgable, caring, and kind. According to our Group, we were comfortable with assessabilities provided.

Date of experience : September 24, 2023

Dear Gloria, We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour of all the countries with Ritz Tours. We greatly appreciate your positive feedback and are thrilled to know that your tour guide was considerate, knowledgeable, caring, and kind. Ensuring our travelers' comfort and accessibility is of utmost importance to us, and we're glad to hear that your group found the accommodations to be satisfactory. Thank you for choosing Ritz Tours for your travel adventure, and we look forward to serving you on your future journeys.

The bus rides are long (and often…

The bus rides are long (and often boring) commuting between countries. It may be more practical to spend more time exploring fewer countries and reduce the number of countries on the itinerary. The bus's video system could have been used to introduce the background of each country prior to our arrival. Our tour group members did not have an initial introduction session (from our guide) with each other, therefore we had to take initiative to introduce ourselves to other tour members during the trip.

Date of experience : August 15, 2018

Hi Peter, I will definitely pass along the information you've provided about the commute and request for more formal introductions. You might be happy to hear that we do provide other, more localized, tours to fewer countries. We hope you try us out again. Please contact our helpful associates to book a tour that's right for you and are happy to offer specialized options. Happy travels!

I had a very good experienced especially it was my first time to used RitzTours. Siu Fun was very helpful and told me everything I needed to know when my husband and I took the China trip in October 2017. On June 6,2018, we are going to Europe and again Siu Fun helped me. There is no question that I will definitely recommend Ritz tour to my family and friends. Vangie

Date of experience : May 02, 2018

Dear Evangeline, Thank you for your review of your China tour with us. We are so glad Siu Fun was able to help you and hope you will enjoy Europe just as much as you did China. We will be sure to pass on your kind words to Siu Fun. -Ritz Tours

Discover Vietnam was a great tour

Discover Vietnam was a great tour. The local guides were excellent--personable and knowledgeable. The hotels and restaurants were first class! We were met promptly and always felt cared for. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

Date of experience : March 03, 2019

Hello Sandra, We truly appreciate your kind words and are happy to hear that your experience in Vietnam was so wonderful. We look forward to seeing you travel with us again soon! Ritz Tours

Superb fast paced tour, highly recommend it.

The tour was excellent and the tour manager was excellent. I highly recommend this fast paced tour not only for the well chosen superb sights but also we did not waste a whole day driving between sights. The problem was that the bus driver was unacceptable. He was never there. Always showed up 15-20 late at the pick up area. On the last day to go to the airport he was just coming down to breakfast when we were supposed to be leaving. He had placed his things on the seat behind him the whole trip and no one could ever sit in this front seat.

Date of experience : July 15, 2018

Hi Joyce, We're so sorry to hear about the problems you experienced with your bus driver and I will be sure to pass this feedback along. We're very happy that you seem to have enjoyed the rest of your tour so thoroughly! -Ritz Tours

scenic yangze river 16 nights china trip

Everything was so organized and planned so well,5 star hotel accomodation. We were four people in the group which worked so well for us.There was always the english speaking guide to receive us at the airport until the time we were ready to get boarding pass for the next flight and of-course the driver who provided us with nicely accomodating SUV.The staff in each city were very courteous, friendly, very knowledgeable, informative and more then willing to give the history of the city.Buffet meals provided in every hotel were more than we could eat and lots of varieties provided for every palates likings. My only suggestion is,when the lunch is provided in the restaurants while on day tour Need improvement. Its nothing like Chinese food we eat in USA. I think the tourists should be asked about their likings and choices of dishes should be given before lunch is ordered. The whole experience was beautiful and excellent.I would highly recommend RITZ TOURS for all vacation plans.I am also looking forward to visit another Country thru RITZ TOURS next year, already my planning is in the works. Thank you RITZ TOURS.

Dear Millie Thank you so much for your glowing review of your Scenic Yangtze tour to China. Thanks for your suggestion about the lunches provided. We will be sure to follow it up. We hope you are looking forward to your next tour with us! -Ritz Tours

Excellent Tour Marred By Logistical Issues

The actual tour was very good. The guide, Joji, was knowledgeable, warm and patient and had a great sense of humor. The locations we toured were outstanding. The cities we went to; Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Nara, were wonderful places to see. The hotels were excellent, but some were far from the city center. The restaurants were generally also excellent. We could have used another day in Tokyo, though. However, all of that was marred by unjustified changes to the itinerary, one of which, a change to the start date, cost us hundreds of dollars in airline change fees and huge inconvenience. We missed out on a highly rated show due to another late change. All of the tour members thought that there was too much use of public transportation. Navigating crowded and confusing subway stations was difficult with a large group of people, and we felt bad for Joji San. Tour buses should have been used more. In addition, we transferred between cities on the bus, but it was too small to accommodate our luggage. That was a lapse in judgement on Ritz' part. Ritz is more experienced with China tours. They might do better in Japan with more experience.

Date of experience : May 10, 2019

Hi Carolyn, We are happy to hear that your overall trip was enjoyable, but saddened to hear that not everything lived up to your expectations. Thank you for acknowledging Joji for her outstanding service, she truly is a valuable asset to our team! We will pass along your gracious compliments to Joji, and the management team of our partners in Japan. We are pleased that you found the quality of the tours and accommodations to be exceptional; we pride ourselves in providing top notch service. We do apologize for the change in the itinerary, and understand how this was an inconvenience to you. We know that because the departure date changed it affected the cost of the trip; in addition we added some other inclusions (meals and a show) in order to improve the overall itinerary. We are sorry if these costs were not thoroughly explained when booking but we do hope you enjoyed the updated itinerary. In regards to the show that was missed, we are sorry that you did not get to experience it. As the Samurai Cafe show was cancelled by the cafe on March 11, we replaced it with the Samurai Experience and we do hope that you found it enjoyable and just as entertaining. Concerning the usage of public transportation, we are sorry if it was more than expected. We do state in our Features tab of this tour package that ground transportation is used in each city. We will take your feedback and use it to improve our communication about this for future bookings. We are sorry if the bus size during times of transfer between cities seemed a bit small, we can understand how this could be uncomfortable. We are in contact with our partners in Japan to better this service. Once again, we would like to say thank you for sharing your experience with us and the world. We do value your feedback and are taking all of it into consideration when improving our overall services.
