Fancy a summer holiday overseas?

How much better is it when you don’t have to factor in a journey to a far flung airport into the deal?

Take the stress out of your trip abroad and consider taking a flight from nearby Durham Tees Valley Airport.

The sole travel agency based at the airport - Fairs-Lloyds Travel - has announced its direct flights and trips for this year and next - with more still set to be announced for 2016.

From places closer to home such as Jersey and Guernsey to exploring Italy and so much of what it has to offer.

Enjoy imagining yourself in warmer climes - and book one if you’re lucky!

For more information visit this link or contact 01642 232777 or email [email protected]

There is a weekly flight every Saturday afternoon to this beautiful tourist spot - the largest of the Channel Islands located between England and France.

The service from Durham Tees Valley ends on September 19.

2. Guernsey

If you fancy venturing a bit further afield, then you can also go to Guernsey via Jersey, using the above flight.

From food festivals and town carnivals to farmer’s markets and summer shows, there is plenty to entertain in Guernsey.

3. Verona, Italy

From this airport tourists can go onto to explore Verona itself, famous, of course, for being the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

It’s home to a 14th-century house said to have Juliet’s balcony, even though the building’s connection to the play is fictional.

From September 23 for one week those who travel on this flight can go to Lake Garda, do a Seven Cities of Italy Tour or an Italian Lakes Tour.

4. Lake Garda, Italy

There are a host of other Italian adventures too you can also book using the Verona flight, such as going on to discover beautiful Lake Garda.

It’s the largest lake in Italy and surrounded by mountains.

5. Sorrento, Italy

A favourite with honeymooners, romantic Sorrento is a coastal town in southeastern Italy - and there is a direct trip on May 17 or October 4 next year.

Facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula, it is perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas.

The destination is known for sweeping views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square.

6. Puglia and South Italy

Or on the same dates you can choose to go to Puglia, a region in southern Italy, which is known for its sunny weather, whitewashed hill towns, centuries-old farmland and hundreds of miles of Mediterranean coastline.

7. The Amalfi Coast, Italy

Another trip available on the May and October dates is the Amalfi Coast, deemed by UNESCO as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape.

The Amalfi Coast is known for its breathtaking beauty - coastal mountains plunge into the sea combined with picturesque towns and lush forests.

8. Lapland or the Northern Lights, Finland

Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region, a sparsely populated area bordering Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic Sea.

It’s known for its vast wilderness, ski resorts and natural phenomena including 24-hour summer daylight, the Northern Lights, and, more importantly, is the official home of Father Christmas!

There’s a day trip to Lapland from Teesside on December 23 this year or a Nothern Lights Flight in March next year.

9. Olympia Rhine river cruises

Lazily drift through some of Europe’s most enticing scenery on board a river cruise vessel.

MS Olympia’s observation deck is the perfect spot from which to admire the ever-changing views whilst enjoying the sounds of the river and the warmth of the sun.

The trip is available on various dates on April or May next year.

10. Amsterdam

Probably the most well known of the destinations from Durham Tees Valley is Amsterdam.

From Schiphol - the main international airport of the Netherlands - you can literally go on to explore the world.

Or you may stay to explore this most-famous of tourist spots, known for its artistic heritage and elaborate canal system.

Flights and departures daily.

Trip to Iceland Offers Unique Winter Tour From Teesside

Teesside International Airport | Published on: 5th January 2023

A winter flight from Teesside will offer a unique chance to sample the stunning scenery and natural phenomena of Iceland.

Bookings for the one-off flight to Iceland with Premier Holidays are now open. The charter will jet off on Thursday, 30 November before returning on Monday, December 4.

The package – bookable through Fairs-Lloyds Travel – will see passengers taken to the stylish Storm Hotel, by KEAHotels, in Reykjavic, for their four-night stay.

The spectacular trip includes a Northern Lights cruise where passengers have a great opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis from a 360-degree viewing platform.

There will also be a visit to the mineral-rich waters of the unique Blue Lagoon geothermal spa – and a scenic journey around south-west Iceland’s Golden Circle, including a snowmobile excursion, to cap off the package.

This latest opportunity comes hot on the heels of more winter excursions being announced from Teesside, including Transun’s popular Winter Wonderland trip to Lapland on 23 December, and Newmarket Holidays operating a Lapland Santa Experience day trip on 12 December.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “We’ve secured more great summer routes from Teesside – with a doubling of our Palma flights this year, and a TUI route to Dalaman in 2024. But it’s also great to see more incredibly popular winter opportunities opening up for our passengers.

“This latest opportunity shows we’re working hard to attract and host flights to new destinations all year round. Fairs-Lloyds have operated from our airport for years, and their support – alongside many other travel agents – helps to give people from across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool exactly what they want from their local airport.

“With passenger numbers on the up, our freight facility up and running, and our business park coming together, 2023 promises to be a superb year for our airport.”

Melanie Fairs, of Fairs-Lloyds, said: “This charter offers a wonderful chance for people to experience the truly stunning landscapes of Iceland, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer this Premier Holidays trip for 2023.

“We’re got some brilliant packages available to all destinations served by Teesside Airport, so we’d encourage everyone to get in touch with us to find out more.”
