No, if selected for the Verified Fan Presale you will receive a new, unique, alphanumeric access code the night prior to your show going on sale. I got an email telling me that I’m on the Waitlist, what does that mean?

Due to extremely high demand, not all fans who register may be invited to purchase tickets during the Verified Fan Presale. Should additional tickets become available, a select number of registered fans may be randomly selected to move off the waitlist. If this happens, you will be notified via text message.

Will there be a way to purchase tickets other that the Verified Fan Presale?

The General Public On Sale will b e Friday, September 30 be ginning at 10 AM local venue time.

Why do I see tickets available to purchase on another site before the Verified Fan Sale has even happened?

Many unofficial sellers will list tickets before they even go on sale. This practice is called speculative listing and fans should not trust resellers claiming to have tickets. Those speculative listings are not real tickets in hand. Beware of these sellers. Learn more about spec tickets here .

What are the health check requirements?

In the best interest of fans and staff, the Event Organizer is monitoring local COVID-19 trends and will meet or exceed protocols mandated by local governments, local venues and tours. By purchasing tickets to this event, you agree to abide by the health and safety measures in effect at the time of the event, which may include, but not be limited to, wearing masks, providing proof of vaccination & booster status and/or providing proof of negative COVID-19 test. Michelle Obama’s memoir, “Becoming,” was an instant No. 1 New York Times bestseller and became one of the bestselling memoirs of all time after it was released in 2018, accompanied as it was by a sold-out world tour by the former first lady and a star-studded roster of hosts. It was also well-timed for holiday gifting, debuting in mid-November of that year.

This year, Random House imprint Crown, in partnership with live event juggernaut Live Nation, is attempting to re-harness that “Forever First Lady” magic. Fittingly, Nov. 15 will mark the release date of Mrs. Obama’s highly anticipated follow-up, “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times,” along with the launch of a six-city tour.

“I am so excited to share that I will be heading across the country soon to talk with you all about my new book, ‘The Light We Carry,’” said Mrs. Obama in a statement. “I’m looking forward to making some new connections — and of course, seeing some familiar faces from the last tour.”

As described in the advance press for Mrs. Obama’s sophomore effort:

In The Light We Carry , she opens a frank and honest dialogue with readers, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much? Michelle Obama announces second book, ‘The Light We Carry,’ will be published in November

“This book means so much to me — it’s a collection of perspectives and practices I’ve used to keep me afloat amid uncertainty,” said Mrs. Obama. “On this tour, I’ll be sharing some personal stories and lessons that have helped me along my path, and I can’t wait to tell you more.”

Kicking off the tour on the book’s release day at Washington’s Warner Theatre, Mrs. Obama will also make stops in Philadelphia, Atlanta, her native Chicago and San Francisco before wrapping up the inaugural leg of the tour on Dec. 13 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.

According to a press release, to accommodate accessibility, those desiring to attend the tour can register for presale on Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform now through Sept. 26.

The release also noted: “Verified Fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public on Wednesday, September 28, at 10:00 AM local time. Only fans that have received a unique code will have the chance to purchase tickets on a first come, first served basis. All tickets will be made available during the Verified Fan presale.” All remaining tickets will be sold to the general public beginning Friday, September 30, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

NEW YORK — Michelle Obama plans a six-city tour this fall in support of her new book, "The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times," beginning mid-November in Washington. D.C. and including a stop in San Francisco.

"I'm looking forward to making some new connections — and of course, seeing some familiar faces from the last tour," the former first lady said in a joint statement Wednesday released through her publisher, Crown, and tour promoter Live Nation.

"This book means so much to me — it's a collection of perspectives and practices I've used to keep me afloat amid uncertainty. On this tour, I'll be sharing some personal stories and lessons that have helped me along my path, and I can't wait to tell you more."

Obama will open at the Warner Theatre in Washington on Nov. 15, the publication date for her book. She will then travel to Philadelphia's The Met, Atlanta's Fox Theatre, the Chicago Theatre and San Francisco's Masonic, before closing at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.

The venues have seating capacities ranging roughly from 2,000-6,500. The settings are far bigger than for most book events, but smaller than Obama's stops on the first leg of her tour for the 2018 memoir "Becoming," when she appeared at the United Center in Chicago and other arenas holding 15,000 or more.

"Becoming" was a near-instant million seller and went on to sell more than 17 million copies worldwide, making it the most popular book in modern times written by a former White House resident.

As with "Becoming," Obama will speak at each city with guest moderators, to be announced later. Oprah Winfrey, Tracee Ellis Ross and Sarah Jessica Parker were among those who joined her for "Becoming." In partnership with Live Nation, Obama will also set aside tickets at each venue for a select number of community members.

Fans can begin registering from Wednesday through Sept. 26 through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan Platform,  https://verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/michelleobama . Any unsold tickets will be available to the general public starting Sept. 30.

Michelle Obama Brings “The Light We Carry” Tour to Six Cities

Former First Lady Michelle Obama will be hitting the road in the fall of 2022, announcing a book tour supporting her new work, The Light We Carry . The tour follows on the heels of her wildly popular Becoming tour, released in the wake of the eight years she spent in the White House with husband Barack Obama from 2008-2016.

“I am so excited to share that I will be heading across the country soon to talk with you all about my new book, The Light We Carry . I’m looking forward to making some new connections—and of course, seeing some familiar faces from the last tour,” said Mrs. Obama.

“This book means so much to me—it’s a collection of perspectives and practices I’ve used to keep me afloat amid uncertainty. On this tour, I’ll be sharing some personal stories and lessons that have helped me along my path, and I can’t wait to tell you more.”

The tour will bring Mrs. Obama to six cities between November 15 and December 14. First, she visits the Warner Theatre in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, November 15, followed by a stop at The Met in Philadelphia on Friday, November 18. Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Mrs. Obama will head to Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on Saturday, December 3, then heading on to the Chicago Theatre in her hometown Monday, December 5. She’ll then head west with stops at San Francisco’s Masonic on Saturday, December 10 and then the YouTube Theater on Tuesday, December 14 to close the run out unless additional dates are added.

Mrs. Obama plans to donate a “select number of community member tickets” for each market, though specifics have not been detailed. On the Becoming tour, ten percent of the tickets went to select community organizations in each city she visited . For most who hope to see her, they’ll have to hope that Ticketmaster deems them worthy, as the sales for her tour dates will be done through the Verified Fan system, which requires pre-registration and approval by the Live Nation-owned ticketing giant for the right to purchase tickets. Verified Fan registration is open through Monday, September 26, with those who receive codes through that presale eligible to try to purchase tickets out of that allotment on Wednesday, September 28. Tickets will be available for the general public beginning Friday, September 30.
